“A Wonderful Hotel in a Great Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2005

The Aria is a new, truly 5 star hotel, in a great location in Prague. There are so many good things to say about this hotel....it is so unique and wonderful. Check out the details at their web site...----.

The hotel made our visit to Prague a very memorable one!

Date 21st october 2005
Just returned from a long weekend with my husband.
Fantastic hotel. The concierge was full of useful information and particularly helpful.
Downside was the breakfast, for that standard expected better

Just returned from Aria Hotel. The location was perfect. You can walk to everywhere within minutes and the area was very safe at night (this is important in Prague!)

As for weakness, I thought breakfast was very below standard. Your selection is very limited and the coffee was awful. For the amount of money paid, I thought the breakfast should have been better.

Rooms were fine. But I would say ambience of the hotel was better than the rooms itself.

You do pay for the convenience of the location and service. I will try Four Seasons next time.

We just loved our complete stay - the rooms, the service, the home away from home feel. The rooms are very well done, the inroom pc with high speed internet (24h at no cost!) very helpful, though you are wireless connected in the lobby and restaurant anyway, if you take your lap top.

Free DVDs and CD we not only listened to/ saw in our room, but also in the small cinema which is located next to the lobby. Unfortunately it was too cold to make use of the terrace, but certainly breathtaking views of Prague.

Staff - just fanstatic. The waiters knew our favorite cocktails and spoke German too, which we did not find often in Prague. Well, all the staff just very helpful with a genuine, personal touch to it. We will come back to Prague and not look for another hotel. Try it!

My husband and I have just returned from a 6 night stay in Prague, we spent 2 nights at the K&K Central in the old town and 4 nights at the Aria. We pre-booked the K&K but tried many hotels across the river, all of which were fully booked before finding the Aria down a little side street close to all of the local amenities. We negotiated a reduced room rate which was a pleasant surprise and were delighted to learn that the hotel would provide free transportation for us. On checking in we learnt that we had been upgraded to a mini suite, the Paganini, which was very quiet and comfortable.
We found the staff delightful and very helpful, the roof terrace was opened up especially for us early one beautiful evening. The view was magnificent and we enjoyed a drink basking in the sunshine!
Our only slight complaint was regarding the breakfasts, which although adequate were not up to the usual 5star standard.
Check out the boutique Phase 2 across the road, I bought a prada and bloomingdale handbag - secondhand but in very good condition.
All in all a very pleasant hotel, ideally situated.

The Aria is unquestionably the best serviced, most thoughtfully themed, and above all, best value-for-money city accommodation that this family of four (with 2 early teenagers) have visited for as long as we can remember. My view considers some of the best city hotels in Asia and the USA, all of which take some beating.

For the best value, visit during high summer- June to September, when the best hotel rates are on offer.

We took a "Symphony" package in the 2 bedroom, 2 bath Mozart suite with a vast lounge, work and dining area at 1,900 Euros for four nights, with late checkout. Compare this as we did with the Four Seasons Prague 10 minutes away, where we were quoted 1,200 Euros a night with breakfast for a junior suite connected to a deluxe double!

Outstanding features of the Aria have been well mentioned by other reviewers. Some of the hotel's plusses that appear to have been missed and are worthy of mention include: 1) the extensive book library (separate from the CD + DVD library) which keeps recent biographies and other quality works of musicians from a range of musical genres, 2) the breakfast room which is in fact the hotel's restaurant outside summer and poor weather, where a sumptious buffet and a la carte English breakfast are offered at very reasonable prices (as Asians, breakfast to us is an important meal, and European hotels with intolerable "Continental" breakfasts simply discourage Asian custom- apart from typically poor service).

Minuses- and we really are scraping the barrel- might include: 1) the hotel's lack of 5 star facilities outside music and DVDs which are its main selling points- for instance, there is no indoor pool (neither has the Four Seasons Prague), and the gym is poor for a 5 star hotel (no rowing machine!), and 2) the limited restaurant menu, which probably isn't suitable for children.

You don't have to like classical music- and we do- to like the Aria; but it certainly helps to appreciate music of some genre (there are also jazz and blues rooms on offer). You might say, "ditto Prague", which positions itself as a musical capital (opera, chamber, jazz) of Europe. Classical music and Mozart were reasons we came to Prague; and the Aria fitted perfectly.

We loved our stay at the ARIA!!! We were at the Mozart Suite for 5 days and loved every minute of it!!! The music library contains all different kinds of music DVDs that one can check out and enjoy on the in-room plasma TVs. The music director is wonderful!! She'll help you in any way she can!! They even have two screening rooms, one with Wilson Sophia speakers. The rooftop restaurant is a little piece of heaven!! Must go up and spend some time there!!

Tripadvisor is my No.1 trusted source for booking hotels. Therefore, I feel strongly that people should know what happened to us at this hotel.

The One Major Glitch happened on the morning of our departure. Our parents departed at 6:30am and paid for our stay then without checking the breakdown of the receipt carefully. We left a few hours later, noticing that we were charged 3000kcz extra for a transaction at 4:53am the same morning...

The front desk first claimed that either my father or my husband (6-ft-asian-males) had gone downstairs to make that transaction... Although none of us was awake at 4:53am... (The morning call was at 5:30am...) A few days later, after our many inquiries, they changed their statement, and said that I (5ft.-3-asian-female) was down there at 4:53am, which is absolutely ridiculous. How can they change their statement from a 6-ft male, to a 5-ft female within a few days???

They also had a receipt of someone else who had forged my signature on the reciept of the 4:53am transaction. This is especially suspicious to me. The signatue is indeed very similar to mine. The only time I had signed anything at the hotel was at check-in the very first day. So it is obvious that an insider had forged this receipt, and charged it on our bill... especially since they knew that our parents were leaving first and were paying the bill then...

We had paid a great amount of money to stay 5 days at the best room of this hotel. There was no reason for us to argue about the 3000kcz, except that someone was deliberately stealing from us...

The hotel looked into the situation and refused to do anything about it...

Therefore, I decided to write for the first time on Tripadvisor to advise people who intend to stay at this hotel to look REALLY carefully before you pay!!!!!!

It is extremely unfortunate that this happened, because it was one of the best hotels we've ever stayed...
