“Boutique feel - believe the reviews!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013

Stayed here in September 2012 with my husband for 3 nights. An adorable hotel that has me wanting to return to Prague simply to stay there again. It's expensive but you can see what you're paying for. A refreshing glass of bubbly and amuse-bouches on the terrace on arrival, and an overview of the city given by a very welcoming staff member. He was very happy to answer any questions and provide suggestions on where to start exploring this beautiful city. Before bed each night we were delighted to discover freshly made profiterles/chocolates/strawberry treats on our pillow.

Breakfast is a lavish feast, best breakfast I have had in any hotel worldwide, all served in their beautiful restaurant with a panaromic view of the city.

Bonus: they provide (unlimited) delicious czech wine every evening between 5-7pm in the library together with fresh juice/mineral water and nibbles. Its a genuinely nice aperitif, compared with other hotels which offer the same but dont deliver in terms of wine quality etc.

I think very fondly of this hotel and have no hesitation in saying it's the nicest place we have stayed in a long while.

I'm not sure that my review will really do justice to our stay at the Golden Well, it was simply sublime! From the simple luxury of the room, to the delicious breakfast and wonderful service we felt like royalty throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble for the wonderfully friendly staff; I even returned from a night at the opera on the my birthday to find a birthday cake (that looked like a work of art) left in our room, complementary of the hotel. The restaurant also arranged to open late for us to have room service when we returned from the opera that evening. I can not rate this hotel highly enough, I was just disappointed not to have had time to fit in a meal at the highly acclaimed hotel restaurant, there is simply too much to see in the evening in Prague.
To sum up our stay in one word; magical!

The hotel is very charming and welcoming. When we arrived, a member of reception took us around the hotel, talked about its history, and sat with us for a short while over a complementary drink in the dining room area to provide recommendations and answer any questions we had on the city. This was very friendly as this was our first time in Prague. The hotel feels very cosy and the room had an iPad just for our use, plus a nice area for complementary coffee and food in the afternoon, where you can meet and chat to other guests if you want. I really enjoyed the dining room which has a stunning view of the Staraya Storone of Prague. We found we could easily walk from the hotel to the centre (despite minus temperatures!). I truly recommend this place for a romantic getaway.

It deserves to have its praises sung out loud. We stayed there during early December. The rooms were beautifully appointed. Not with fussy tea trays etc but with classy luxuries like an iPad, Molton Brown, fresh fruit, fine linen.....The staff were unobtrusively helpful. Being a small hotel, it felt as if we were the only guests.
The breakfast was sublime. After all we had heard, the buffet initially looked a bit small but that's because most of what you choose is on the Al La Carte menu. After a beautifully cooked first course (maybe Eggs Benedict or a full English), you feel as if you could eat it all over again, at which point you are asked if you would like a dessert. The menu reappears and you can choose pancakes, French toast, fruit salad... And, yes its true, there is sparkling wine too! And, the coffee is excellent.
As a party of four we had two rooms. Neither had views. So if you want a room with a view its probably best to say so when booking. However, the view from the restaurant was amazing both with and without snow!
The rooms were on the warm side but the temperature was adjusted for us on request. The location is exceptionally quiet (in an upmarket part of Prague) and we slept very well. But still walking distance from the Charles Bridge and other sights, restaurants and shops.
Almost forgot, the 4pm buffet snacks and wine in the Lounge. Each day these were different - small delicious bites, both sweet and savoury.
We really weren't ready to leave this hotel. If you need looking after - this is the place!

Room Tip: Ask if you want a room with a view - or to ensure bath and shower.

Our stay ( 5 nights ) at Hotel "Golden Wll" was in every way a superb experience. Everything was simply perfect: the beautifully restored townhouse, our spacious ,very clean and tastefully decorated room ( luxurious bathroom!), the friendly, competent and very helpful staff, the breathtaking views over old Prague, the delicious and sumptious breakfast ( best ever!), gourmetdinner at the rooftop-restaurant and the fantastic location in a quiet little alley ( no trafficnoise) just beneath The Castle- and the very friendly wellcome ( cake and wine in the restaurant) - it all made our winterholyday in Praque an unforgetable and unique experience. The buildnings connection with the danish astronomer Tycho Brahe was for us ( since we are from Denmark) an interesting "extra".This hotel is just the right blend: small, cosy, luxurious in every detail. We will definitely visit The Golden Well again and recommed it highly to everyone looking for "something special".

Golden Well was the 2nd hotel we stayed in Prague during our recent visit in December. We read about this hotel from a travel guide book and decided to check it out.

The hotel (actually it feels like a upscale boutqiue residential apartment) is located up a little slope off the main street, and off a neighbourhood square. We were dropped off at the neighbourhood square as the road leading up to the hotel was too narrow for a car to enter. (Note: if you have heavy bags then ring the hotel for assistance with the bags. The road can be quite slippery in winter)

We have a very comfortable room on the 2nd floor with views out to the steps and the Prague castle on the far end. In the morning, the roof of the neighbouring buildings were covered with powdered snow, it was a magical sight.

Breakfast was served on the 4th floor restaurant with even better view. Food was of a high quality and the service was prompt.

We walked to the metro station (Malostranska) and Charles Bridge and realised that it was very convenient to explore Prague on foot.

Overall it was a very enjoyable stay and I would recommend this hotel.

If I were to be picky, then I wish if I could have a larger room. The room we had at Golden Well was a little small compared to all the hotel rooms we had stayed during our recent travel.

Room Tip: Choose a room on a higher room looking towards the castle.

Great boutique hotel which I ever stay. Just 5 min. walking from "Karluv Most", so it is central location, but just a few step in - and you hardly may see any people, so peaceful and calm, that you may rest and enjoy after all noises and crowded The Old Town..
The breakfast which is servlng on the roof-terrace restaurant is excellent, the girls-waiters are very professional and friendly, the view on Prague is magnificent.
All and all - Love that place so much, Thank you that you made our stay so unforgettable and pleasant !

Room Tip: Location is so quiet that I think all room - as our - are without any noise,
