“Just Beautiful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

We were able to see a concert with a string quintet. The acoustics were amazing! I couldn't believe how lucky we were to find out about the concert.

“Bring a guide!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

We certainly enjoyed the beauty of the place, but would have enjoyed some narrative on the importance of what we were viewing and interesting facts on the items inside. We didn't appreciate what we were looking at until after we had left!

In hindsight, I would have gone on the castle tour with a guide that we met in the square (Keith... from California... wears a green shirt). I think I would have enjoyed it even more with his type of narrative giving lots of interesting facts.

“Go to one of the classical music concerts held at night”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

St George's Basilica isn't much compared to St Vitus Cathedral only a few steps away, but for a 1,000 year old church that houses the remains of several Bohemian Kings, its not bad. We attended one of the concerts at night here and absolutely loved it. It is a very small crowd of people, maybe 20 or so. I believe it was a 5 piece orchestra with a woman who sang one or two songs. The music was beautiful and the setting was serene. It was quite something to listen to an orchestra play inside a 1,000 year old church.

“Nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

This is a nice quaint little church but not a whole lot to see. I went in here on the short tour ticket I purchased and otherwise wouldn't go inside. I took a picture of the outside but nothing worth capturing inside considering the much larger cathedral to see across the way.

“Overrated”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

I toured St. Vitus Catheral first. By comparison, St. Georges Basilica was about as exciting as a Howard Johnson's. In general, alot of the attractions at Prague Castle have been refurbished so well that they've lost thier old-world charm. Fresh paint and stucco everywhere. St. Georges - with it's perfectly painted exterior is much to look at. It's history is still interesting tho......
