The hotel is very nice- though I was slightly disappointed as I thought I had booked a 4* hotel but it was more like a 3* to me. The rooms are a very good size, but felt very empty with a large room & not much furniture. On the other hand the bathroom was really lovely decorated, very good size, all amenities with a really nice bath & shower.
One thing we found the most problem was we needed to iron some of our clothes and when we asked for an ironing board to iron our clothes we were told the hotel does not supply ironing boards and that if we wanted our things ironed we would have to pay the housekeeper to iron them. Thankfully my partner only had 3shirts he needed ironed as it was £2 a shirt. We were surprised as most hotels will provide clients nowadays with ironing boards, we also had hoped due to the inconvenience they would offer to iron our 3 shirt for us without charge but this was not the case, it was very much- like it or lump it. This is only a minor complain though.
On the other hand the receptionist was very helpful with anything we needed. She explained all the routes into the centre, what attractions to go see, the best restaurants and helped me check in online & print off our boarding passes. The computer facility is very handy too, always available to check quickly your emails or check in online, I even booked our return taxi transfer via the internet. Also I had been emailing the manager before hand about our arrival and they had organised some sparkling wine to be left in our room for us arriving.
I was worried the hotel would be quite far from the centre- seeing stories of 20mins walk. The first night we arrived we went out for a walk- within not even 10mins walk you are in the centre. The metro we found very complicated to use- unless you speak the language which we certainly don't. Most times it was a case of guessing which train to get on. So we preferred to walk everywhere and it was very handy to walk from our hotel, it's more or less staright road to the centre. We got a taxi home most nights- just haggle the drivers they come down in price.
We also used the Jacuzzi- we were able to hire it out for one hour, it was very nice, quite relaxing & they provide all the towels etc. Only thing is I paid about £20 for the use of the jacuzzi for one hour, there was no-one else booked in so It would have been nice to be able to perhaps go into the steam room or something else instead of being confined to the one. Again though this is a minor complaint & I'm being picky.
All in all it was a very nice hotel, great service from the staff, prices very good and if your just wanting a nice relaxing hotel to sleep, change & relax for a few hours each day in then it's perfect. Anyone looking to spend all their time in a luxury hotel might be disappointed.
