its definitely not for people who are looking for luxury hotel with 4 starsl. Its more like a hostel. Rooms are clean but old, breakfast could be much better, servise was ok. I wouldnt say its bad but if you re used to stay in nice, clean hotel with full service dont go there. But if y want to discover prague and y re just looking for place to stay over night go for it.

Love to stay at Evropa hotel while in Prague. It has it's faults; it is old, delapidated, bathrooms are awful, no room service, no usual facilities and no heating before midday. BUT, I love its' style, it's character, people who work there and decor of the all rooms, coridors, foye, bar and restaurant.

Room Tip: pay chash and you get a discount, too

We were sent a voucher for this hotel, & having checked out the hotel website, decided that it would be a super, good value, pre-Christmas break.

Well....

We arrived to the rudest 'welcome' I'd ever experienced. We nearly left there & then but unfortunately decided to stick around. The room we checked into was pretty indescribable. Bare, basic, freezing cold, uncomfortable & with a nasty bathroom. Again, we considered leaving but instead complained and got moved to a 'better' room. Please see the attached pictures of the bathroom....

We had a lovely evening out in Prague & came back to yet more rudeness from the staff. After a very bad night's sleep, deciding that it wasn't worth sticking to a 'hotel' that made us sad, we checked out. The man on reception continued the rudeness theme, interrupting me repeatedly when I tried to express my disappointment.

We fled, our mood immediately lifting the minute we made good our escape.

Good points:
Excellent location, very clean

Maybe this hotel was, indeed, 'Grand' 50 years ago. Now, however, these people have no business running a hotel & the building itself is in dire need of some serious tlc.

PLEASE BEAR IN MIND THE ROOMS BEAR NO RESEMBLANCE TO WHAT THEY SHOW ON THE WEBSITE

Room Tip: There are NO good rooms The rooms facing Wenceslas Sq are marginally better purely because of the v...

I stayed ,along with 13 others at the hotel for a stag do in early August 2012 . We had it allocated by the stag do organising company and when looking at reviews it made for a startling read. We agreed it was cheap n cheerful and ideal for a stag do . When we arrived ,we checked in and 3 were allocated to our room . I kid you not the 3 of us were a bit apprehensive but when we walked into room 119 we were all in agreement '' it's not too bad at all'' . There were 2 single beds and a double . Good clean linen and ok underfoot as well . Big room with high ceilings and a very spacious bathroom, again clean and towels in abundance . It wasn't the Ritz but nothing like the reviews we had read. All the guys on the stag do were in the same wing and we were in agreement it was great to be here . On our ''wing'' we had 2 extra shower rooms and 2 extra toilets which proved invaluable . To be fair the decor isn't modern in any way , old fashioned with oodles of character is the theme . Scruffy in some places but in no way unpleasant . The hotel is nearly 110 years old and retains all of it's ambiance . Location of the hotel is ideal and central to everything . We didn't rise early for the breakfast for obvious reasons but the lunches and evening were great value and delicious .I'd definitely stay there again as it's good value and good location .

Room Tip: all rooms have their own peculiarities , pot luck what you get allocated . We all had great rooms on...

We recently stayed at this Hotel, and we were captivated by the absolute beauty of the decor. Its like stepping back in time. The bedrooms comfortable, clean and adequate. The continental breakfast delicious ... !!
The price very fair ...for a slice of genuine Prague history.
Fell in love :-)

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a bath...as showers are also considered en suite ?? Take your own hairdryer:-)

It looks like something out of a spy movie. The ambience is very Soviet-era and a throw back to post WW2 decor. The inside is dark and dingy, yet it is clean and efficient. There are no shower curtains so this presents a floor and water issue. The staff is curt, but gets the job done. They are not very used to Americans. It is in a great location on the main drag in Prague. Can walk to anywhere from here. Personally, I would have preferred a bit higher class of surroundings.

Room Tip: The elevator is extremely small so you will have to walk up stairs with luggage. The hallways are va...

Born in 1889 as the Hotel Archduke Stephan, the Evropa was recast in the early 1900s as an Art Deco hotel. However, this is yet another classic that has seen much better days. Though the statue-studded exterior, still one of the most striking landmarks on Wenceslas Square, has recently been polished, the rooms are aging; most don’t have bathrooms and some are just plain shabby. The best choice is a room facing the square with a balcony. The hotel’s famous cafe, a wood-encased former masterpiece that no longer glows, furthers the theme. Still, this is an affordable way to stay in one of Wenceslas Square’s once-grand addresses.
