“Suberb hotel with excellent staff in an ideal location.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013 via mobile

Stayed at this hotel to celebrate our engagement. Read a few reviews on trip advisor and delighted that I picked this hotel. It was 5 star service from as soon as the porter opened our taxi door and lead us to the reception. The staff were incredibly helpful when poking the hotel and during our stay. The Buffett style breakfast is of good quality and definitely fills you up for your days sight seeing. The hotel is a 5min walk to the Charles bridge and there are excellent restaurants nearby aswell. All in all it was an unforgettable experience.

There is a very good reason that this hotel has never had a bad review. It's beautiful. The staff are very helpful and go out of their way to make sure you're enjoying your stay. They upgraded us on arrival to a junior suite, which was just lovely. My husband and I discussed last night when we got home what we'd change about this hotel to improve it and there really isn't anything. It's romantic, peaceful and one of the nicest places I've stayed. Highly recommend. They picked us up from the airport and arranged restaurant bookings for us score we arrived. Also my husband is gluten intolerant and they provided suitable breakfast bread and cakes without being asked, which was really appreciated.

My fiancé and I just spent 4 days in at the Nosticova Residence and we thoroughly enjoyed it! The staff and service is brilliant; quote possibly the most accommodating service we have ever received.

We used the hotels transport service to and from the airport which to be honest is well worth the money (which is reasonable anyway). Our driver Peter was a lovely guy and a true gentleman with my fiancé: he took her suitcase straight away at the airport, helped her in and out of the car and even warned her that there was slippery ice! Upon arriving he also took care of handing the bags to the hotel porter who helped us checkin and then took us to our room.

The room was on the fourth floor "Anna" deluxe suite which was lovely, clean on the surface but it was dusty in the corners, on the beams and under the bed - things that can be easily fixed though. It did have a brilliant view up towards the castle.

We would like to see improvement to these areas:
1. Breakfast, what they have is lovely but not enough choice and to many egg dishes on the menu!
2. On our booking confirmation it clearly states "free bottled water" be careful...we got a bill at the end! Apparently only the first bottle is free.
3. The wifi service is painfully slow, this is only minor thing but makes a difference when you are trying to upload all those beautiful pictures!

We would return to this wonderful hotel and therefore highly recommend it to anyone visiting prague.

Dear Sir / Madam

Thank you for taking the time to post a review we greatly appreciate your positive and constructive feedback.

Whilst I am pleased to note that you highlighted the team work, the driver guy and accommodating service I am most concerned to read of your disappointments with the housekeeping service. Please rest assured that I'll take the appropriate measures to prevent any future occurrence.

I would like to clarify the issue of charged water. Please be informed that as per guest directories only one large bottle of mineral water is served for free every day and it comes with housekeeping service automatically. Additionally requested bottles are served as a room service. In this moment waitress asks guest to sign the bill to avoid any misunderstanding. We are sorry that the process was still not clear enough and we will do our best to prevent such a situation in the future.

Once again I am thankful to your comments and look forward to welcoming you back.

Kind regards,

Lucie Nizka

Stayed here for two nights in November. Booked a Gothic room but received a free upgrade to a very spacious junior suite. The staff were all pleasant and helpful, especially Dasa. The breakfast was of good quality.

Might as well keep this short and sweet: stay here. You won't regret it.

We chose this hotel after a fair bit of research and reading of reviews. Believe all the good aspects you read about this hotel as we found it fautless for many reasons; superb location just a few minutes walk from the Charles Bridge and all the sights, but on a very quiet street, genuinely friendly helpful staff, elegantly decorated to a high standard, comfortable bed, spotlessly clean, delicious and fresh breakfast buffet with a wide selection (coffee not so good but that was only a minor issue). Sister hotel the Alchymist Spa only 5 minutes walk away, enjoyed their atmospheric Indonesian spa. Mala Strana is a fantastic little district with lots of good cafes, restaurants and small antique shops to explore as you wind your way up Nerudova Street to visit Prague Castle and St.Vitus Cathedral. My husband and I thought it was very good value and can't rate it highly enough for our first stay in Prague, we were no disappointed and we would definately stay there again.

Room Tip: Wanted to stay in the top attic rooms to appreciate the view, but they were full, so we were upgrade...

My husband and I recently stayed here for our honeymoon. We booked a suite and ended up staying in the Rudolph II. Firstly, credit to the hotel staff who were very friendly and helpful. We checked in almost 2 hours early and they were very accommodating in that regard. Also, as a welcome, we were treated to not only a welcome drink, but a bottle of champagne! Thank you!

The hotel is located in a small street in the Mala Strana district. There is an embassy just across the road and part of the Kampa park. It is just around the corner from the main street and Mandarin Oriental hotel. Our cab driver found it difficult to find, as he just assumed it was the bigger sister Alchymist hotel (about 5 minutes away).

The outside of the hotel is a simple building, with no ornate decorations, however, upon entering, there is an old world charm. Decorations are beautiful with mirrored mosaic walls and chandeliers. This decoration was reflected in our room, which was very spacious.

Our room had a large flat screen television (with limited English channels) and the essentials of a safe, mini bar etc. The marble bathroom was nice, however the shower head sprayed water in multiple directions, making it almost impossible to have a shower without partially flooding the bathroom floor! Unfortunately, the towels and sheets whilst once being good quality - seemed tired and worn. Our towels had holes in them and so did our bedsheets. This was entirely not expected for a hotel of this calibre. Also, the room does not insulate sound so well, therefore we could hear very clearly what was happening on the street below, as well as at the front desk.

Breakfast was included and the selection was ok. The breakfast was handled by a single waitress who tried her hardest to deliver coffee to all the tables, top up the buffet AND clean and set the tables. Unfortunately, this proved to be quite challenging when the busy breakfast time came around. Beware - cappuccinos are NOT included in your breakfast inclusions (although they are not expensive at 2.20Euros each).

Overall, we were happy with the location of this hotel - and whilst we were given free access to all the facilities of the sister hotel - we never got the opportunity to use it. The front desk was helpful and friendly.

Thank you so much for your very valuable and much appreciated feedback following your recent stay in Residence Nosticova.

I'm pleased to read that you found our service to be friendly and helpful as this together with a highly attentive attitude are the cornerstones of our service philosophy.
