“Great hotel, great location and great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

We stayed at hotel from June 19 to June 23. From the moment we arrived the service we received was excellent. All the staff, the reception team, cleaning ladies and those in the restaurant were so helpful and so polite. We ate in the restaurant on one night and the food was excellent. The 15% discount for residents on all food and drinks is a great deal. Breakfast is plentiful and varied and the outside dining area is nicely shaded. We also used the hotel's pick up service from the airport and this was also excellent. The Pod Vezi has an excellent location, which is perfect for exploring Prague. Our bedroom was extremely spacious, although dark. The treats left by the hotel in the room each afternoon were an added bonus. In all the hotel is great value.

We celebrated our 25 wedding anniversary here. The staff were lovely, with really thoughtful attention to detail. We were made to feel valued guests, rather than just another couple. We stayed in the annex, across a quiet street from the main building. This literally meant crossing the road for breakfast! Hardly a hardship. Lovely spacious room. Fabulous breakfast. Staff helpful re local places, sights, eating places, metro etc. Even umbrellas at the door for customer use. These were only needed once during our stay, a small miracle in itself. Would recommend unreservedly.

Room Tip: Annex really handy for the main building. Lovely and quiet.

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was one of the best experiences we have had at a hotel in Europe. We stayed in room 21, which was very large, even by USA standards. We were there in a heat wave, and the a/c worked extremely well. The staff was very helpful with sightseeing and restaurant advice. There were several English TV stations, a couple with 80's movies, but better than watching CNBC all the time. We used the taxi service to and from the airport, which was excellent as well. Every day they brought a treat to our room -- chocolates, a fruit tray or a plate of cookies. Such a nice touch! The location couldn't have been better -- right next to the Charles Bridge, close to the tram line also. The free wifi (with a computer in the lobby too) was appreciated. The breakfast selection was good, with some of the usual European items we don't care for, but scrambled eggs, fresh fruit and many bread choices too. We had an early flight the last morning and they made up breakfast boxes for us without being asked!

Room Tip: We were in a twin deluxe -- the room was very spacious and had a nice view with windows on two sides...

This is a lovely hotel, the service, rooms were first rate. It is 5 minutes walk to Charles Bridge and thus within walking distance to the centre of Prague and also the castle. We really enjoyed our 4 nights here and if we ever return to Prague would definitely stay again. The staff were a joy to talk to and so helpful.

This is just an excellent hotel with great rooms, outstanding service and a convenient location. We just decided to go back there in the fall. The price is very reasonable, and that for such a beautiful city as Prague!

We stayed for 4 nights in a standard double. We were in the building a stones throw from the hotel as the hotel a year or so ago bought another building to add extra rooms.
It's in the best location! It's on the tower of the Charles bridge opposite the old town/ new town end. This was great for us as this is where the cheaper food and drinks are, but still only a 15 minute walk to the centre of the new town. Right opposite hotel is a baguette shop, mini market for all essentials and a bagel shop.
The room was very clean, good size and has all the essentials including tv, bottle opener and slippers! The only downside was we were on the top (third floor) and it was very hot. There is an a/c machine but this does not touch the shower room which was like a sauna in 20-24 degree weather outside.
Good taxi service to and from airport all arranged by hotel (600kc each way) and all the staff were very polite and helpful.
Breakfast was good, usual eggs, cereal, teas and coffees, bread and also vegetables!! I'm fussy with food and had plenty for me to eat to set me up for exploring this wonderful city.
All good here.

We stayed at Hotel Pod Vezi for two nights while touring Prague. We were in the Dependence building across the street, but this was no big deal - it couldn't have been more than 50 feet and I thought the extra building was nicer than the main one. The check in was good - a nice greeting - however I felt they went a bit overboard trying to sell a sight seeing tour (we did not take the tour and opted to do an walking audio tour instead as Prague is not huge). Our room was comfortable - very large and a big bathroom. The addition of tea and a kettle was a great plus too (I have found this is not very common in Europe, surprisingly). The bed was nice, however the mattresses were not very thick, so it was not as plush as I prefer. I still slept well. Probably the best things about the hotel are its location (just feet to Charles Bridge and lesser town) and the cleanliness (we felt totally comfortable with this the whole time at the hotel). A nice included breakfast rounded out a comfortable stay in Prague.

Room Tip: Don't worry about the Dependence building - it is quite nice.
