“Great location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013

We traveled to Prague with two other couples, and we chose the Hotel Meran for its great location. We were not disappointed. The hotel has quite a bit of history to it, having been owned by one family before WW11, losing it to the Third Reich, and then repurchasing it after the fall of the Communist regime.

This obviously is an older hotel, but our rooms were spacious and very clean. Beds were large and comfy. Baths had been updated. The breakfast room was very pleasant, and this was one of the nicest morning spreads we experienced on our trip. Both Martin and Eleanor were more than helpful with all of our questions and problems.

We highly recommended this hotel.

Stayed there 4 nights in September 2013. Room and bathroom was large and clean. Had a room facing Wenceslas Square..what a view! After closing the window at night the room was quiet and a fan circulated the air. Has a small elevator! Staff was very helpful with restaurant suggestions and location of a grocery. Location was fantastic! We took a tram to the Castle but easily walked everywhere else. Let our group of 3 couples use the breakfast room one rainy afternoon to play cards. Why quaint? Very skinny building!

This hotel was more like a two star rather than a three star. The staff were verging on rude and not welcoming of myself and my daughter, the twin room we were given was very small and not like we had seen on the website. The food was plentiful at breakfast but the hotel days it serves drinks to its customers in the lounge, myself and my daughter went to avail of this and found an empty room in darkness. This hotel would not be on my list of places to stay in beautiful prague

We had a very nice stay in this hotel. The staff was extremely nice and willing to help. For example, they brought us an english newspaper during the breakfast and packed a lunch box when realized that we have an early morning flight back home, even though we did not ask them to do it! Rooms are spotless and spacious and the view of Wenceslas Square from the room is terrific! Great place to stay in Prague.

Myself, husband and adult daughter stayed here for 3 nights. The room was great overlooking Wenceslas Square with a small balcony, great for taking photos. The room was large including a table and chairs and mini fridge. The breakfast was ok but monotonous. We would book this hotel again for it's great location.

Ideally located right on Wenceslas Square. Claims to be 3-star but I'd say more a 2-star hotel. Old fashioned and nothing special IMO. Clean (of course) but not smart: could do with renovating. Better value hotels nearby.

Stayed here for 3 nights in a triple room. Lovely art nouveau features, tall ceilings, chandelier.. could be truly amazing if they did it up a bit.
Very generous, simple room with 3 beds and nice sofa/seating area. Lots of storage. Large bathroom, modern. Clean throughout. Right on Wenceslas Sq next to Hotel Europa. Our room overlooked the square on the second floor and had a balcony - fantastic for views and late night drinking, less good for sleeping - extraordinary amount of noise comes off the street at all hours. Ear plugs a must.
Breakfast was no frills but more than adequate. Everything was promptly refilled. Choice of cold meats and cheese, bread and jam, eggs, cereal, juice etc.
Reception staff varied between barely polite and extremely helpful - luck of the day I guess!
Parking at a fee right in front of hotel. Walking distance to main train station. 10 min walk to Old Town centre. Go, we liked it!

Room Tip: If you value your sleep over view and atmosphere then go for the back of the hotel.
