We stayed at the Dorint Don Giovanni as part of a Grand Circle Travel Danube river cruise tour. I give it a mixed review. The hotel has a clean and spacious lobby. Our room was also clean and spacious, quiet and comfortable. The hotel is located away from the city center, but there is a subway station as well as a streetcar stop nearby. Free wi-fi is available in the lobby. The food at the bar was reasonably good; and the breakfast buffet, although crowded, was also reasonably good.
However, some features of the hotel were disappointing, even strange. Our bathroom had a heavy sliding wood door that was installed backwards (amazing!). The small opening to push the door open from inside the bathroom allowed only inches to slide it without crushing your fingers. In addition, the shower head flew off when the water was turned on fully, and there were hardly any electrial outlets in the room.
On our stay, numerous tour groups packed the lobby and bar/restaurant area. The crowds were so excessive on the first night of our stay that the bar and wait staff could not keep up. It was pure chaos. So my question is, "If you are not part of a tour group, why would you stay here?"
