“Hungry bartender”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2013

The hotel itself looks nice. But if you are planning to have a drink before going to sleep, you'd better find some place else.
Starting from the attitude to the clients (which is not very pleasant) ending with much more unpleasant story.
Here is one: In the evening my friends and I went for a drink to that bar. I ordered panini. There were a lot of people, so slow service is understandable situation. Finally I got my panini (sandwich with paper-wrapped end). It was fine. But when I wanted to finish my panini of course I took the paper off...MY PANINI WAS BITTEN from the other side. I can hardly imagine how this situation could've happen by chance. It didn't really come to my mind to check it before eating. Surprise!! From that time I lost an appitite for papini. Bartender acted like "well..s**t happens."
However, receptionist was nice and helpful. He showed understanding dealt with the problem.

Be careful and have a pleasant experience only!!

Hotel Theatrino is a member of Ave Hotels, close to the downtown. I stayed there more than 5 times. They offer standart rooms. 3*/4*, classic buffet breakfast in charming theatre hall. Tunisian and ukrainian staff are very helpfull. Czech not too much :) I love this hotel for location, charm, good sleep quality and for good price of course.....

My husband and me are very dissapointed about the quality of this so-called 4*hotel. It's a trickery. Our room was dirty, the towels were off-white instead of white an smelled of vinegar. The toilett and the bath were separated and both stank of sewage. The curtain in the bath was dirty. The only positive thing was breakfast in a very beutiful theatre room. The hotel stuff was not friendly. Anyway the homepage of this hotel doesn't correspond the real living conditions.

Lovely hotel which was spotlessly clean. Fair breakfast for the price and excellent transport links in to the centre. I've stayed in Prague 10 times and this is the best hotel in the Zizkov area. If you don't mind catching the tram into town, save some money and stay here. Tram stop less than 100 meters.

Rooms are quite spacious with ensuite bathrooms, wardrobes, free safes, tv and tea and coffee. They also have a minibar which is not badly priced. Loads of bars and restaurants nearby, and helpful reception staff.

The hotel is well situated. It is very close to a tram stop which is only a few stops away from the many city central square. From the outside, the hotel looks rather shabby and not at all like you would expect a 4* star establishment to be. The lobby area is small and awkward and I just got the general impression that I was in a hostel not a hotel. There are several floors with 2 small elevators in operation.

Rooms are nice looking and clean and have a lot of amenities (which perhaps got it the 4*s) for example, a kettle, tea/coffee, mini-fridge with some drinks, lamps, a blow-dryer, a TV etc. but the rooms themselves weren't very big. They are tidied daily and fresh towels are provided in the bathroom. Storage space is good too. The windows were rather small though. The best thing about the rooms is that the beds are extremely comfortable. I would say that the walls are quite thin too because we often heard noise from the room on the floor above us.

With regards to food, breakfast has a lot of options from pastries to fruits to eggs and sausage and hot and cold drinks and you are welcome to have as much as you like. Dinner on the other hand was horrible!! The first day we had very dry chicken and potatoes served by a not so pleasant young boy. The following day was worse- the meal was pork (the only option) which I couldn't eat! Others couldn't either because it tasted awful so I'm told. Another thing is that if you opt for having dinner there, drinks aren't included.

Staff are friendly and are willing to help you with regards to transport questions, money exchange and whatever else. They speak a variety of languages too. There are various leaflets and brochures available also.

Overall not a bad experience but the hotel's quality needs to be revised, I was very disappointed. I think it is more like a 3* hotel.

The location of the hotel is very convenient, only 3 tram stops from Main Train station (Hlavni Nadrazi), which is further 2 mins walk from Museum. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was an interesting shape, but clean, the bed was comfortable. There were no slippers/dressing gown in the room, which was odd for 4* hotel. The breakfast choice was poor, no selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. The hotel is in a residential area, there was not many restaurants to choose, though there are plenty of fast food places.
