“Not a good hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

Staff not very friendly. Sheets were changed after 4 days because i ask to change the bed! Booking say: "You will pay the hotel in the local currency (CZK) according to the exchange rate on the day of payment." - At the reception was a gentleman with glasses, massive and arrogant and he especially ask me to pay in euro not in local currency! The hotel restaurant is mexican. Breakfast give me the impression they have a part of food from the night before, mexican specific! The wi-fi is working poor with interruptions.

Room Tip: ask them a room with back view, are quieter!

Dear Guests,

thank you for taking your time to share your experience about your recent stay with us. We appreciate your comments, which help us to focus on our custumer needs and to improve the quality of the service.

I would like to apologize for the inconveniences caused by method of payment. During the check in the guests are asked for the guarantee (for the accommodation and other extra services eg. restaurant, minibar, etc.) either providing the credit card details or cash deposit in EUR, but the final payment is possible by card or cash in CZK or EUR. It was misunderstanding with our front desk staff.

As our hotel is environmentally friendly and holder of the prestigious ECO-LABEL certificate, the bed linens are changed every 3-4 days during the stay. Of course, if necessary, we do the change more frequently or upon guests request. Rooms are cleaned on daily bases.

Regarding to your comment about the wifi connection, the Chief Technician took the necessary steps in order to avoid the similar problems in future again.

I would like to assure you that all your comments have been passed and discussed with the whole team.

Yours Sincerely,

Ivana Holubova

Stayed here with my hubby for my 60th birthday, the hotel is out of town but that suited us as we like walking so every day we walked into prague along the river (very nice),the tram is just over the road so getting into prague is know problem, the breakfast was good with bacon sausage, tomato, boiled egg, poached egg, scrambled egg,and omelette as well as cold ham cheese fruit cereal yoghurt tea coffee fruit juice and much more, coffee and fruit is still out side the lift daily except sat and sun.We ate and drank in a very friendly bar 4min walk from the hotel called restaurace korbel with a good english speaking lady and english menu, the beer and food was very good and cheap,on our last day the lady gave my hubby a beer jug which i thought was very nice of her.the only down side to hotel was they allowed a couple in the dinning room for breakfast with a dog and it was not a guide dog this only happened once and that is the only reason i rated 4 and not 5.

Room Tip: all rooms on the 5th floor great,

!! A totally modern hotel with old world service which touches your heart... the front office assistant David , is such a pleasing personality and so service oriented that he makes you want to chat up with him. Nice rooms, very close to the tram station( tram 12 and 24 take you to old town square in 10 minutes) so old town square is not far off,,, nice breakfast menu,,,,truly,, it is one of the GEMS waiting to be discovered in prague.....Keep up the good work guys!!You rock

Stayed for four nights and the hotel was perfect. Trolley stop is only a half block away and the metro station is about a 7 minute walk. The room came with two metro passes for each day of our stay which saved us money and headaches trying to figure out the ticket machines. The staff was friendly, helpful, and spoke great English. The free breakfast in the morning was a feast, changed slightly daily, and lasted late -until noon on weekends! Clean, upscale.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with my fiance at the end of September. Location is a good bit away from the city centre but is well served by trams within a 3 minute walk from the hotel. tram no 12 and 24 will take you into the town. The no 5 no longer serves the area as mentioned in previous posts. The tram stop for the hotel is Ortenovo Namesti. The metro station (red line) is 2 stops from the hotel but you can get the tram at the metro station to the hotel. You can buy tram, metro and tour tickets at the reception area. A tram ticket form the hotel to the city centre is 24 kc.

The staff at the hotel overall were friendly. The room was lovely and clean with a complimentary bottle of water every day in your room.

I thought the Mexican restaurant was excellent.Great choice and very reasonable. We ate there every night.

Breakfast was good, with a range of breads, cereals, juices and cooked food.

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel! Will definately stay at this hotel again!

Just spent 5 nights at the Alta Plaza. Clean, comfortable and great value. Not really a 4* hotel but still great. Slightly away from the Old Town in residential area( safe at night). Tram 12 and 14/24 stops outside hotel, 10 minutes into the old town. No need to use the metro as trams take you everywhere to see the sights. Tram tickets available from reception. Breakfast was ample catering for all tastes. Definitely recommend to friends.

The rooms are very clean and not big (but how much space do you need for two nights) but it had nice furniture and it was very quiet. The staff at the front desk was nice but the staff at beakfast seemed a bit like they were hiding from the guests.

I was a bit disapointed by the breakfast buffet. The coffee was not very good and the juice was a bit too watery.

For a City Trip I would defenitely stay again but without breakfast.
