“Nice, relaxing place if you like walking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2010

Hotel is located on the riverbank, walking distance to city center. Only problem with location is that there´s no direct tram, bus or subway line next to the hotel. All are within walking distance but if you are in a rush it seems too far away :) But for tourists is ideal location because they can take nice walk to reach the historical center of Prague. There´s also a shopping mall Novy Smichov near by you can find shops, restaurants and cinemas there.
The room itself is nice, hotel is neat. Only thing I missed were slippers and bathrobes that I would expect at 4star hotel. But I must say after I reached home I had an email with questionnaire from the hotel at my mailbox. I filled in the remarks and I was assured they will check this issue with housekeeping so you might find it in your bathroom. I had an overnight stay so I didn´t bother to request it on a long run I would sure call for it.
I recommend this place for its location but if you don´t enjoy long walks and wanna jump on subway in a minute look somewhere else.

The Mamaison Riverside is all class - a truly gorgeous building with fantastic staff, great room (room 604) and magnificent views of the castle & river.

Our room was essentially a suite (certainly not what was expected) with a lounge area at one end (with balcony) and the large king bed at the other. The bathroom was a great size, with under-floor heating. Free WiFi was available in our room.

Only possible fault was that we booked the nearby private parking - we noticed our car at the front of the hotel the next morning (which is monitored, and has a fee for parking there as well). We raised this with the staff, who immediately apoligised for the error, and waived all parking fees for our stay - excellent response to our concerns.

The lobby bar served very good food & drinks (nice when you arrive from a day of driving at 8pm), at reasonable prices compared to hotels in Western Europe.

We didn't do breakfast at the hotel, however found great breakfasts in a lovely building at Cafe Savoy nearby - highly recommend!

A leisurely 15 minute stroll along the river to the Charles Bridge was a pleasure.

Overall, a superb place to stay just outside the main hustle & bustle of Prague. :D

I have stayed in many hotels around the world of varying standard.

We booked this mainly based on the deal we got and the reviews on Tripadvisor.

The hotel was excellent in every sense! I am often dubious about small hotels as I like the facilities of larger ones.

The room was very comfortable and cosy - great bathroom with heated floor which was a nice touch.

I cannot put my finger on what makes this hotel so special - It has a really great feel to the place, so much character.

The walk is around 10-15 mins but you only have to follow the river and it is a really nice walk.

Prague itself is great, lots to do - mainly revolving around alcohol!

We stayed in room 203 - this room had a river view and we loved it (although I think it was slightly smaller than other rooms)

There is a free office suite which guests can use, this is basically a bedroom kitted out with all the office equipment you could need with free internet (ask at reception).

If you book this hotel you are sure to love it!!

Stayed here recently and would recommend it. Lovely building and staff very helpful. Nice view of the river from our room. It's a bit of a walk to the centre but it's quite a scenic route along the river so we didn't mind.

We spent 3 nights over a weekend here very recently and had a wonderful stay! The MaMaison Riverside is a fantastic, classy hotel a short distance from Prague's old town square. It's on the same side of the river as the castle & is ideally situated for exploring. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable of the area, and made some good recommendations for coffee (Cafe Savoy) and dinner (Olympian).Metro station Andel is about 10 mins pleasant walk away, most of which you can do along the river.
The room was exceptional- stylish decor, enormous bathroom, comfy bed & spotlessly clean. And ours was just a Superior Double! Buffet style breakfast was 15 euros each and included bacon, eggs, sausages, fresh danish pastries, breads cheeses.... if you consider that a decent breakfast can set you up for the day & negate the need for lunch, it really wasn't too expensive.
Food in Prague is generally quite pricey, as are most things. Beer and public transport are still cheap, though! We had dinner on our last night at the Matylda, a 'botel' docked just across the bridge from the hotel & I would thoroughly recommend that for its food, views, staff, ambience - just a lovely place for an Italian meal.
Can't rate Mamaison Riverside highly enough; will definitely stay there again.

I highly recommend this hotel. The lounge area, breakfast fantastic, impeccable rooms double sealed windows - sound proof rooms, right at the bridge, great view and an easy walk to the old town center.

We stayed here for 4 nights in November and we had an excellent experience. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the hotel, although fairly small, is well equipped and of a very high standard. Our room wasn't huge but it was perfectly big enough for us and the bathroom was fantastic, the biggest, best bathtub I have ever used! The bed, as people have mentioned on here before, was extremely comfortable too, although the pillows were a little 'lumpy' but that's being picky. cleanliness was first class throughout the hotel too. The location is good, right next to the river, although it is a little outside the 'main' old town area (too far to walk really, especially in November!) but this really wasn't a problem as we just walked across the bridge, Jiraskov most, and caught the tram straight there so it was no problem to us. Also, behind the hotel, a few streets away, is the area called 'Andel' which has a tram stop as well as a metro station. This area also has lots of good restaurants, bars and fast-food places.
I would highly reccommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again. We also LOVED prague and I'd reccommend coming in the autumn too as the trees were beautiful and the weather was great, cold but not freezing and no rain, maybe we were just lucky though...
