“Very good hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2012

I have just got back from Prague. My visit was from 27 June till 29 June. The hotel is situated in the city center,so it is easy to go on foot around the city. You can go by tram, which is close to the hotel.Service is very good, rooms are clean and comfortable. The rooms are cleaned every day.As for breakfast,it's a plenty variety of food (bacon, cheese, bolied eggs, fruits, coffee etc.including champagne).IF you stay more nights,it seems to be regular.

Anyway,it is fine for me.
Concidering the hotel price,it is good, because quality and price are equal. If you pay attention to good service and location,it is certainly your choice of Best Western City Hotel Moran.

Room Tip: There is no specific location for choosing any room. The only remark is that you can hear some noise...

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2012

Stayed for 3 nights in March 2012 and this hotel was perfect. It's clean, comfortable and in a great location.
The hotel itself is quite modern and has ample sized rooms. Breakfast is a continental buffet and is very nice. The bedrooms are clean, comfortable and quiet. There's an underground station practically outside the door and just past this, no more than 50 metres away, is the tram line and river. You can also catch a bus over the road from the hotel.
Travel is very reasonable, just get a 3 day ticket and it gives you unlimited use of buses, trains and trams. The main centre of Prague is less than 5 mintues on any mode of transport or about a 30 minute walk along the river.
By far the best thing about this hotel though, is the cafe over the road! Cafe Amandine is by far the nicest place I've ever eaten, it's set out like a French patissierie and does unbelievable snacks, drinks and full meals. The hotel gives you a voucher to get 10% off but even without this it's still very reasonable and the food is gorgeous!
All in all, a thoroughly nice hotel in a fantastic city.

Sleep quality is good because it is very quiet around the hotel, it is very close to a metro station, and 5 minutes walk to Chales IV bridge

Private property, corner location, everything adequate for the price. Our taxi from the airport took a while to find it though! Away from the Charles Bridge and Old Town but easily accessible through metro, trams or a twenty minute walk with great views alongside river. Metro station is a couple of minutes walk, boat rides are a five minute away. A great cafe opposite the hotel (discounts offered to Moran Hotel guests). Only breakfast is provided, which was limited but wholesome. Hotel staff was friendly; booked our city tour and airport drop without any hassle. Our room was quite large and in-room facilities were as expected. In summary, everything was fine as per the price.

Stayed at the Hotel Moran for a week in March, 2012. Good, solid 3.5 star property. Hotel and rooms were very clean; very good tub/shower combo in bathroom. I found the free breakfast to be very good. If you’re expecting American style breakfast, you may be disappointed—but it was an excellent European breakfast (mainly meats/cheeses/fruit, with excellent juice and coffee). Hotel is less than two blocks from the metro, and it’s an easy 10-15 minute walk along the river to the St. Charles Bridge and Old Town. Reasonable rates. An excellent hotel and value!

We spent our first two nights at the BW City Hotel Moran and were very satisfied with the room, the service and breakfast. The location is convenient both for wandering around and transit, trams and the subway.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2012

We stayed at the Moran for 3 nights in the middle of May 2012. We were given a rear facing room which, although not so scenic & was a sort of courtyard, turned out for the best in that we got 3 nights excellent sleep. It was lovely & quiet. The front facing rooms may suffer from noise due to trams rattling past, so that may be worth considering for anyone thinking of booking! The bed / pillow combination was excellent & I must say it's probably the best hotel I've stayed at for sleep comfort / quality.

There was a small fridge in the room that could be used for keeping all your needs cool. A clever touch really, Tea & coffee making facilities were provided in the room with frequent replenishments by the maid.

The door to the room unlocks by just touching your card against the sensor.....I was baffled at first as I thought it was one of those locks that you place your card in the slot to unlock.

Breakfast was plentiful & very enjoyable, with cold meats, cheeses, fruit, fruit juices, various breads / cakes, toaster & hot plate keeping scrambled eggs, bacon & frankfurters warm. The only negative was the coffee was not to our taste......no hardship I personally had tea instead.

Safety deposit boxes are located at reception area & are free during your stay. I thought this was a great touch as most hotels can't wait to charge for these...so well done on that respect!

The hotel has two lifts & also a wonderful period staircase.

The upside to the hotel was the location in respect to the tram / transport network. Karlovo Namesti tram & metro is just around the corner & a daily tram pass can be bought from the metro kiosk downstairs at the bottom of the escalator. The machine only takes coins but the lady behind the counter can sell you a ticket if you haver no change for the machine......a bargain just 110Kc for the day (around £3.50 for the day & includes use of tram & metro).

The French cafe across the road from the hotel entrance is nice, & a discount voucher can be used for those staying at the hotel.

Anyone looking for a nice inexpensive restaurant could do a lot worse than look up one called Dynamo on a road called Pstrossova on the way up towards the old town. We had a lovely pasta meal for about a fiver & a great steak was only about £7. Thoroughly enjoyable little place!

All in all our group enjoyed their stay & thought this place was a bit better than last years stay in Best Westerns sister hotel The Pav. Transport links at the Moran were better & we personally found it much quieter than the Pav allowing us to recharge our batteries for another day of sightseeing in this thoroughly beautiful city.

Room Tip: Front facing room scenic but noisy. Rear facing rooms not to scenic but peaceful. Only a very few ro...
