“Amazing taste of everything Prague!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

This location is where the 4 corners of trams, buses, and the underground meet. It is also the center of activities, cultural, modern and fun. There is food, visual pleasure, architecture, and the gateway to the historic...more historic portions of Prague... shopping, malls, and more. It's amazing, and in one corner--you can get a wholleee lotta Prague!

“An ordinary square”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012

This square has not got the quaint atmosphere for me like Wenceslas Sq. or others in the centre. There are historic buildings, the municipal house but also a huge department store with branded goods. You have to see it for yourself.

“Good place to start your tour of the old town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2012

Namesti Republiky is a good place to start a walking tour of Prague's old town. Take the yellow line or one of the many trams that stop here to reach it. The Opera and the Powder Tower (entrance into the old town) are just around the corner.
This is also a good place to come for shopping, for example at the Paladium shopping mall or the many shops on the Na Prikope street, which will lead you towards Mustek metro station. Around Christmas time there is also a big market set up on this square, full of yummy snacks (for example, a sweet pastry called "trdelnik" or hot wine) as well as all kinds of handmade souvenirs and crafts.

“Good spot to walk through”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012

This square isn't very picturesque, but will get you where you need to be. It's busy and bustling and I feel like it's a cross-roads through town. Worth walking through to get to the Powder Tower, theater, etc, but other spots in Prague are much more lovely. Some nice art deco buildings nearby.
