“charming and convenient”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2012

The Hotel Paris is well located just a few blocks from the busy Old Town Square without any of the commotion and chaos. A charming hotel, it feels like going back in time. We arranged to have the hotel pick us up from the airport and bring us back when we left, which did not cost really any more than a cab would have cost--and it made the trip so easy. Lovely staff, terrific location, well priced.

Room Tip: there was construction next to our room when we stayed, but the room was so comfortable we didn'...

We had a week long stay at the Hotel Paris in Prague and it's a beautiful place to stay in a beautiful city. Our room was very comfortable and the staff at the hotel were very helpful with organising tours for us (at a reasonable rate) and helping out with other tourist questions. A few in our party arrived without their luggage and staff basically took care of this for us - a great help. Our stay included breakfast and it was a great way to start each day. Staff in the restaurant were wonderful and 'saved' our table for us each morning. The location is right in the heart of the city and it was very easy to get to everything on foot. The hotel itself is a gorgeous art nouveau building and worth seeing, even if you're not staying there.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the street. We had an interior facing room and it was fine, but our f...

Heavy old furniture with a touch of old days luxury. Great service. Rooms were small, but comfortable, especially a wonderful bed. Bathroom was very nice with slippers and bathrope. The reataurant "Sarah Bernhard" has a star in the Michellin-guide, The breakfast was a nice buffet with everything you want, and need.

The hotel is very rich in terms of its one hundred years of history. The building, neo-Gothic structure, is a classic one with many tourists, passing by, stand in awe and try and capture best possible shots of it. The location is another high, cannot be any better, right in the middle of historic Prague. Powder Tower one of the landmarks of Prague, can be viewed from room windows. In short, the hotel has a lot of character, without doubt. But, I found service to be too slow. The hotel suffers from shortage of manpower. It's like full of multitaskers. Rooms are clean but not fully stuffed with daily needs, such as, drinking water, tea or coffee maker, cookies, etc which are usually provided free in rooms in many luxury hotels these days. We enjoyed our stay mainly because of the environment within and smiling staff at reception who were ready to help always. We may return to this hotel if we plan to revisit Prague in future.

We enjoyed every aspect of this hotel ... the service, the buffet breakfasts and most of all the decor throughout the hotel and in our room. Prague is a fascinating and beautiful city - our hotel choice added to the ambience with its character and charm. We highly recommend this hotel and will be staying when we return.

An extraordinary hotel with original art nouveau/art deco fittings and fine original artwork on the walls. In a word, the antithesis of the bland hotel chains but with the same friendly and efficient staff. Rooms not huge but very comfortable. It can be a bit noisy with the window open but the windows are all double glazed and the air conitioning works fine. The basket of fruit awaiting us on arrival was a nice touch. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the lunch we had in the bar was also very good. All this AND it's very centrally located, next to the Powder Gate. What's not to like?

This was our third stay at this fabulous hotel, and the many positive comments in my previous review still stand. We booked a Deluxe room, though were perhaps a little disappointed by its size. It wasn’t especially small, but we have had larger rooms in this hotel. However, this is an observation rather than a criticism, because the room boasted its own small balcony, overlooking the Municipal House, and this was a really pleasant and welcome feature. The desk/dressing-table needs a lamp and (I’ll say it again) there’s no tea/coffee making facilities – though these can be provided at an extra charge. Free wi-fi is in the public areas, but not in the rooms. The staff at the hotel are really great. Whatever you ask for, the request is actioned swiftly and courteously. As always, breakfast was a fabulous affair, and dining room staff attentive and efficient without exception. Prague was bursting with tourists, and to come back to this wonderfully quiet and ordered hotel at the end of a busy day is always a joy.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the Municipal House have the better view compared to the other side of the hotel.
