“My Favourite Hostel in Europe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2012

CHARLES BRIDGE ECONOMIC HOSTEL is very friendly hostel strategicly situated on a "doorstep" of the Charles Bridge, which makes you absorb the atmosphere of this charming city straight after getting up of your bed and opening the window.
The number of beds in rooms is not too high. That makes the rooms cosy and tempting to communicate with roommates. That gives you an opportunity to hear interesting stories, exchange the travel experience with new friends and strengthen international relations ;-).
The bathroom is spacious and clean. There´s also the kitchen, a lounge with sofas and PC´s with internet connection. There is Wi Fi in whole building as well.
The young staff is very friendly, welcoming and helpful. It disposes of quantity of information and leaflets about events and cultural happenings in Prague. You can choose from many options what to do or where to go without wasting yout time by long advance planning.
Nearby there are many shops and restaurants of different price categories, so you can get what you need almost 24/7.
I´ve spent whole weekend in The Charles Bridge Economic Hostel and I enjoyed it a lot. I´ll definitely select this place when visiting Prague next time again!!! ;-)
You guys just carry on in what you´re doing.
Kind Regards,
Kitty ;-)

I stayed three nights in another hostel in Prague before deciding I wanted to extend my stay and they didn't have any room, so I moved to this hostel for one night. How I wish I stayed here for the entire trip!! The staff are really friendly (and there's a tiny kitten) and the hostel feels really safe considering downstairs is a travel agents. There is a swipe card door to get into the hostel itself and onto each floor, and although there was a bit of a booking mix up I still got a bed in a dorm. The dorms are all really spacious and clean and have single beds instead of bunks - heaven! Clean and tidy everywhere with communal areas and kitchens on each floor. Fantastic location too - definitely recommended.

At first sight, this place doesn't look that great, but the rooms are really comfortable (with no bunk beds) and the staff were very welcoming. Also, it really is right on Charles Bridge - the location could not be better. My only complaint would be that the bathroom setup in the girls dorm was such that if someone was in the shower, noone could use the main toilet - this really wasn't a big problem, but does take a tiny bit of getting used to. Not really somewhere to meet other travellers, but a very comfortable place to stay.

stayed 4 nights at the hostel with a friend. Awesome location and the staff were all very friendly. I haven't stayed in many hostels but my one complaint would be that 7-11 people had to share 2 toilets and one shower. That being said, you can rent a better private room with its own bathroom. I would stay here again.

Absolutely brilliant hostel. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The place even has wifi! The view was amazing, looking straight onto the main street leading to Charles Bridge, so we would sit on the windowsill and watch the people go by after a long day of sightseeing. It's situated above a tourist information point where the hostel staff also work, so if you're ever stuck for activities, you know where to turn!

You'll have to go through the front door, a metal folding gate, another metal gate and then the front door to the studio - it's very secure at night (the front door and folding gates are open during the day for access to the tourist information point).

I stayed here last summer with 3 other people. We were given a studio room/flat which didn't give us all much privacy, but we had plenty of space. We did however end up with a double bed and a set of twin beds pushed together, effectively giving us 2 double beds for 4 non-couples! We were provided with enough duvets for everyone to have one each though, plus as friends we weren't too bothered with sharing beds. There was a wardrobe with a missing mirror/panel, and locks that didn't work, but we weren't there for long so were happier just living out of our suitcases.

The kitchen had a bunch of kitchenware and utensils as expected, with a fridge, cooker and sink as standard. It even had things like salt and pepper (I suspect leftover from previous occupants). There's a supermarket across the street if you need any essentials anyway. The bathroom was very nice as well, could do with some grout-cleaning but otherwise nice and clean.

I went to Prague for a week with my friends, and the one who made the hostel reservation accidentally forgot to book the last night! So we spent the last night in Charles Bridge Hostel and it was so nice! We had the flat on the last floor (hall, bathroom, kitchen, living room, 3 beds), with a beautiful view of Charles Bridge. You get free coffee, free water (from the fridge), discounts on some tours, you can use the computers for free, and they lend you a touristic guide (a book, but actually they also let you have a free guided tour of the city) about Prague... You feel easily at home.
Plus, the location is excellent and the staff very nice! I loved to play with their little cat while drinking a REAL coffee!

Room Tip: If you really want to avoid the noise, don't chose the view of Charles Bridge: Mostecka is part...
