LOCATION: Excellent location on a very quiet street near castle. About a 10 minute enjoyable walk to old town center and dinner/sites. It was nice to come back to a quiet place in the evening.
TYPE OF ROOM: We had the first floor room. Initially we feared that it would not be private enough as it is off of the area for the massage room. But it was quiet and we grew to like it. Overblown fussy décor; no desk area, too many small useless furniture pieces. I would prefer a room with fewer décor items and useless tables, and more functional pieces.
BED/SHEETS/PILLOW: Bed and pillow were comfortable; Linens were of high quality.
LIGHTING: Good lighting in bedroom and bathroom.
BATHROOM/SHOWER: Bathroom was of good size. There was no separate shower. The bathtub was really deep and being short, I had to lift my leg really high to step into it. The tub floor had no traction/adhesion and I was afraid of slipping on the tub floor, especially as I was off balance due to stepping into such a high tub. I asked for a plastic tub mat, and one was provided. I think a tub mat is a necessity given the depth of the tub and the lack of a rough/non-slip tub surface.
TOILETRIES: High quality, but we had to request a bar of soap for the tub; only one bar of soap was provided initially and we refuse to move the bar between the sink and the tub.
CLEANLINESS: Hotel is well kept.
A/C: We were warm, and opened our windows. It was quiet outside and we have no complaints. If we had not been able to open the windows, the room would have been too warm.
STYLE OF ROOM: Not my preference, too fussy and ornate (but they restored the hotel to all the original details of the house).
COMMON AREA: Beautiful common area but not really a place that I would choose to hang out as it too formal for my taste.
FOOD: Breakfast was good; juice, coffee, croissants, ham, cheese, fruit, yogurt. And, you could order eggs or pancakes if you desires.
TV/INTERNET: TV is of good size. Internet is free and of good speed.
SERVICE: Service was excellent/superb; among the best we have experienced. All staff were incredibly nice and we would return on the basis of the service. They tried really, really hard to meet all of our needs.
SUMMARY: Great location, very nice rooms (although probably not our style) with friendly/excellent staff that provided superior and caring ervice. We would gladly stay here again.
