“Great Value in a Quiet Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

Can a relatively pricey place like Alchymist Prague Castle Suites be a good value. Absolutely. Although this certainly costs more than many other hotels in Prague, the people at this hotel make you visit much more enjoyable. The hotel as a very small staff, but this allows you connect with each one to enrich your Prague experience.

The Reception staff all worked so hard to help us have a great experience both in and out of the hotel. They arranged tours, purchased concert tickets and always had restaurant recommendations that we appreciated.

Our two butlers, Eddie and Alex, worked on rotating shifts and were excellent at making our stay very comfortable. They quickly learned our preferences and were always unobtrusively looking for ways to help.

The housekeeper was excellent and made our room a welcome place to return after a day out in the city.

The hotel is in a VERY safe area. The Czech parliament occupies much of the adjacent buildings so security is very tight. We always passed 2-4 police officers on the short two blocks between the main square and our hotel. There are security cameras everywhere on the streets in this area. You are a five minute walk from the Little Town end of the St Charles Bridge. While your are geographically very close to the castle, it is way above you so you must make a pleasant (in winter) walk up the hill to get to the gate that leads inside. And it is SOOOO quiet. It's really amazing how close you can be the action but still have virtually no noise when you go back to your hotel.

The heated bathroom floors made our winter vacation much more pleasant. Also, don't forget to use the private sauna/spa in the basement. It's a beautiful, peaceful place for a couple to relax.

“Beyond excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

We stayed at the Alchymist Castle Suites for two nights. Day before our wedding and on our wedding day and it was wonderful and so romantic!
The hotel is like from a Fairytale - beautiful in a quiet location - very peaceful and calm, but still an easy walking distance to all the major sights. Hotel's rooms are immaculate, with stunning decor and furnishings. Chandeliers, beautiful antique furniture, art works. Gorgeous! We also loved the secret lift:)
Staff really lovely, very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them - especially finding suitable taxi for the bride and made her wishes come true:) Both nights we enjoyed time in sauna and jacuzzi,
We've stayed in the room with balcon and Castle wiev - amazing! The room was large and cleanliness of our room was perfection!
We had fantastic and unforgetable stay!
Special big thank you to Lucie, Eddie, Ivan and lady who tidied up after my bridal preparations.
Alchymist Prague Castle Suites is the kind of place that makes you feel special! Like royalty!!!
We would certainly come back again!
Thank you
Karel & Daniela

“Gorgeous Hotel with Excellent Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

Amazing Boutique Hotel with a great relaxing ambiance. The building is beautiful, rooms and bathroom very grand spacious and comfortable and the breakfast exceptional.
The staff are very welcoming with exceptional personal service and always willing to assist you so that your stay is a memorable experience. The Wifi was the best out of all of the hotels we stayed at in Europe - in other words it is at full strength and never dropped out. Easy walk to the local square where the Hop on Hop off bus is able to take you to many locations in Prague. Recommended Restaurants Sasazu and Cafe Imperial which both will require Taxi.
Great local restaurants are in easy walk from hotel heading up the hill towards the Prague Castle where we has the best pasta carbonara ever !! You will not be disappointed by staying in this beautiful Hotel while exploring Prague.

Room Tip: Room off the library on the 2nd floor guests have access to Library Balcony

“A fantastic boutique hotel with excellent service and a personal touch.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

We selected this hotel based on the previous reviews we had read here on Trip Advisor. It certainly did not disappoint. The hotel is finely appointed and luxurious in nature but what made our stay was the fantastic service combined with the little extras. Upon arrival we we were warmly greeted by the on call butler offering us a glass of champagne whilst he finalised our check in. From there the remainder of our stay was characterised by similar service. The included breakfast each day was available from 0800 - 1200, perfect for late risers, the complimentary wine tasting each evening was also a great touch. The tasting is overseen by the butler and included a selection of Czech reds and whites along with a generous selection of Czech cheeses and breads.

The hotel is centrally located; a 10 min walk up the stairs to the castle and 15 min walk across the river to the centre of old Prague.

Restaurant wise we can also highly recommend the nearby restaurant Villa Richter (Located halfway up the stairs to the castle and about a 8-10 min walk from the hotel), fantastic food and wine all reasonably priced. If your keen for a good pub meal we can also recommend the pub round the corner from the hotel near the corner of Tomášská and Thunovská St...great saddle of wild boar!

All in all a great hotel that we would thoroughly recommend if you like to stay somewhere with a few extra personal touches.

“Just perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

The building is beautiful and very comfortable but the staff make this place what it is. Nothing is too much trouble. Best breakfast among all of our travels. Wine and cheese at 5pm everyday. Free Wifi. Free minibar minus alcohol. Massages and jacuzzi. Perfect for couples but we have our teenage boys who were very welcome. We leave tomorrow after a two night stay and I wish we could stay longer.
