“Best way to see Prague!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2012

We had been turned on to this company by friends that had used the service previously, and are we glad they did! Our tour guide Andrea was professional in every way. She discussed with us first what our interests were, and off we went! We saw sections of Prague we would have never found on our own, and her knowledge of the city's places and history was extradordinary. It was also fun - we made a quick midmorning stop for a drink and pastries off the beaten path that was truly delicious, with the best hot chocolate I have had in my life.

Besides sharing amazing Czech history, sites and views, Andrea gave us good practical advice - a good spot to exchange money, excellent restaurant suggestions, best spots to find garnet jewelry (not the tourist places everywhere), which type of boat service to seek out for a river tour, and suggestions on how to best structure the rest of our time there. She even marked up the tour map for us with each of her suggestions.

Andrea was also a treat to meet as a person, as she responded kindly and thoughtfully to our questions about life in the country under Soviet rule and after. As a Czech, she wanted us to know the significance of places of St. Wencelas Square and the artist Alfons Mucha. We later visited the Communist Museum at her suggestion.

We also used this service for our return taxi to the airport. The driver was prompt, spoke English and very professional. We were impressed with the spacious Czech made sedan that was used. Having been warned by other travelers about poor taxi experiences (even robbings!) in Prague, we felt fortunate to be in safe and secure hands.

Andrea's tour made us feel like it was the best way to see Prague, especially when we saw other groups of 40 or so following someone with a raised umbrella to identify the tour guide. There is no comparison! Andrea is an excellent guide, and we felt lucky to connect with someone so kind and knowledgable, as well as proud to share her Czech heritage. I highly reccomend this company to anyone visiting Prague!!

“Fantastic Tour of Prague”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2012

My wife and I visited Prague and had the pleasure of having Jana Krtaka show us around this beautiful city. Jana met us at the hotel (on-time) and sat with us for a few minutes to find out what we wanted to explore. Then we were off to see the city. She was very knowledgable and gave a a good background of the history of the city. She covered everything from 800 AD to present day. She took us places we would never have found or seen on our own. We cover all the main monumnets, catherderals, palaces, and more. She took us to a quaint local place for lunch and dropped us off at a wonderful cafe for dinner (Cafe Louvre). She also gave us some great suggestions on where to go and what to do on our own time in Prague. Overall, it was a great tour and Jana did a fantastic job of showing us around this wonderful city.

“Highlight of our Vacation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2012

During our recent trip to Prague, we had the pleasure of having three tours with Lenka Gajardo Hodrova-- the "Best of Prague" tour, and two "day trips", one to Cesky Krumlov and the other to Kutna Hora-- all of which we would rank as a five-star experience.

On the best of Prague Tour, Lenka was very helpful in re-arranging the order of our tour to help us secure train tickets for the next leg of our trip, and also what must be the best place to exchange currency in Prague. She was very knowledgeable about the varied sites in Prague, and she came across as someone who loved what they were doing. The tour was also loaded with tips for shopping, and also some guidance about where to be careful. It was an excellent orientation.

On the next day , we went on the trip to Kutna Hora (about an hour each way), which included a stop off at the famous "bone chapel" and the walk through an attic of a cathedral before the main attraction, which is as a wonderful "old Europe" center with winding cobblestone streets and historic buildings.

Cesky Krumlov was a longer drive (about 2.5 hours each way), and somewhat more commercial, but the palace is staggering, and the town is loaded with beautiful views. Lenka's knowledge of different historical sites, local restaurants, and stores was invaluable.

Perhaps the most amazing thing about her was her objective view of the benefits and drawbacks of the Czech republic under communism and after the Velvet Revolution. When we asked her about her personal experiences and impressions, we had the most educational 10 minutes of any trip we've ever taken, something you won't find in a typical history book, and really had me reevaluate my understanding of post WWII history.

Also, she was very responsive to the needs and interests of 4 different people.

If she is a typical guide from "Personal Prague Guide"-- then I would not hesitate to use them again.

“The best way to see Prague”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2012

I travelled with a friend in march 2012. We had a guide for two tours. Lenka Hodrova was amazing. She met us the day after we arrived. The first tour was the highlights of Prague. She met us at our hotel and took us up near the Prague castle via the public tram. Thanks to her we could easily master the public transportation after that. We walked for about four hours through the castle area and made our way down to old town and the astronomical clock. Lenka's knowledge about Prague was incredible. We learned a lot about the history of Prague and it was all informative and interesting when combined with the waking tour. We even went back to the hotel computers to look up more!! She was able to tailor the tour to our interests too. My friend wanted to get some Prague candy to bring back for her sons class at school so on our walk Lenka brought us to a local grocery store and pointed out the local treats. As we walked around there we plenty of tour groups, and we felt extremely lucky to have the type of personal attention that we got on our tour. The next day we took a tour out to a glass/crystal factory. It wasn't your standard tour type facility it was a real working factory. Also very interesting. Then we stopped by another castle. We thoroughly enjoyed our tours and our trip would not have been the same without it. I wish every vacation had this type of tour and personal attention. I would highly recommend it and in fact will tell friends that visit Prague that they absolutely have to book a tour.

“Personal Prague Guide is an excellent service with knowledgable staff.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2012

My husband and I had the pleasure of having Jana Kratka as our personal guide in Prague on February 7th and 8th, and we thought she gave us a wonderful, comprehensive tour of Prague. She was so knowledgeable -- like a "walking encyclopedia" of the history and culture of the city. She was so easy to be with and helped us tend to some of our personal needs as well. As we don't speak Czech and don't know our way around, it was comforting to have her with us. I would give her the highest rating possible for her services and highly recommend her and Personal Prague Guide to others. What a great find! -- JR
