Not sure why this place gets such great reviews. This was the only place we went to that we were truly disappointed with. We went two times because the desserts looked really good. They weren't.
Our first time was better. I would say the food was mediocre to okay. They brought out something that my husband did not order and it looked really good, probably better than what he actually ordered. They were very apologetic about it, friendly and swift to correct their error. What I ordered, the fennel dish with parmesean and pumpkin wasn't bad, it was just bland. It needed more pumpkin and less cheese and maybe a different type of cheese. I'm not sure the parm worked with it that well. My husband ordered the snails and while they weren't bad, they were awfully salty. He liked it but didn't find it delicious or memorable.
The manager/owner seemed very nice and came up to us a view times to chat.
The next visit (right after Christmas) the staff weren't as friendly, maybe it was too early for them. We ordered espresso and cake. The desserts all looked delicious so there is a chance we ordered the wrong things but the cheesecake my husband ordered was so awful that no excuse can account for it! It tasted like no cheesecake I have ever eaten. It was made of what tasted like cool-whip or some equivalent--a really airy and fake tasting concoction that was really bad and had no flavor. I had the pistaccio cake and it was okay though it didn't taste like pistaccio. It was green and that is about it. Disapointing, but not awful like the cheesecake. We had been looking forward to eating dessert here for a few days, as they were closed for Christmas, and we were so let down!!
