“Decent food, polite staff.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2013 via mobile

My wife and I stumbled into this place on our first night in Prague. The food was good, nothing special I might add but by no means bad. I had the rabbit and dumplings, which was a little salty to be honest.
Best of all however was the attitude of the staff. They were very friendly and did not try to scam us in any way with bread etc.
All in all a very nice place to eat... Just a shame smoking is still allowed in Czech.

“Whimsical Atmosphere with Traditional Czech Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

Great service with English speaking servers and amazing ambiance.
It's good Czech food for good prices.
The first night we were here by chance and chose this restaurant because it seemed like it served traditional Czech food. They have a smoking section on the right and a non-smoking section on the left, but you can still smell the smoke. Nevertheless, this quaint place has wonderfully romantic music and decor that makes you feel like time had stopped for you.

We ordered:
- beef goulash with dumplings: really really good
- grilled pork knee/knuckle: a little dry but came with a lot of dressing
- side grilled vegetables: amazing
- a pint of beer
- a glass of sweet rose

We were also going to order grilled ribs but the server told us it would be too much food and he was right. The total came to about 20 EUR and we walked away stuffed.

Came back two days later for breakfast as cafe savoy down the street was full, and had their ham and cheese omelette and the grilled side vegetables again because they were that good. No freshly squeezed orange juice but the cappuccinos were good. About 15 EUR for the both of us.

“Simple and odd atmosphere”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2013 via mobile

We ordered 2 Czech typical meals (pork and beef) that came along with their typical cooked bread. The food was average, not great cuisine. We paid CZK463 for the above plus 2 pints, so price is okay. The atmosphere was undefined to me: lots of wood and bricks and small lights that attempted to create à cosy atmosphere but the overall did not work. Place is okay to have lunch if you pass close to it, would not go especially for it.
