“The very good hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2012

Very good location on silent street of historical center. Room was equipped with refrigerator and small kitchen with all necessary utensils. The stuff is very attentive and speaks many languages include russian. The chief stuff are italians with traditional hospitality.

Very well located just 2 minutes away from the main square, the room is big, with a kitchenette and the bathroom is well equipped.
The receptionist spoke at least 4 languages perfectly and was extremely helpful and gave us the best tips to enjoy the city.

Breakfast could improve a little bit but otherwise, great value for money.

Great location but the hotel is still under construction and it appears that will go on for quite some time. When we arrived, our rooms smelled of wet plaster and gave us the impression the room was dirtier than it actually was. Closing the windows helped with the smell. And then the noise begins early on. Breakfast is pretty poor. The beds though were comfortable and it's hard to beat the location.

We stayed here mid-May. Lovely big room and bathroom, high ceilings, large bed, even a 2-ring electric hob/kitchen sink so we could boil up water for coffee. Balcony overlooked quiet side street and beautiful church (the bells DON'T ring, don't worry!) so on a lovely morning you could open the balcony doors and admire the view. Alterations going on in hotel on ground floor but didn't hear any noise, but think if you had a room near there it may not be so good. Also rooms on the other side of the hotel may not have had such a good view or been so quiet, so location of room probably important. Hotel reception- 3 different men on shifts, the gentleman with the moustache was extremely helpful and informative. Breakfast basic self-service. Excellent location, so near to walk to the main old square and all other sights, not far to walk to Charles Bridge either. Couldn't fault this hotel on location or room, we really enjoyed our stay there.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the church. This overlooks a quiet side street so a) you'll get a goo...

The location of this hotel is excellent: in the heart of downtown only minutes from both the main square. Because of many one-way streets in Prague, you may need a good map or GPS to find it by car, but make sure you do for the hotel is excellent. In fact, if you abide by traffic signs, you will not reach it because it is formally inside a pedestrian zone. However, you can drive to the hotel and it has an underground parking garage (Euro 25 per day)
We stayed with 4 adults in a single room, which turned out to be a newly renovated two room suite with a full bathroom on the 6th floor. The hotel has an elevator. The price was incredible (only Euro 115 for all four of us with breakfast). The breakfast was good. Some remodeling was happening while we visited; it appeared the breakfast room is being expanded. A few small items that were not perfect in the room (eg 2 missing light bulbs) were immediately fixed.

For what we paid for this hotel, we were absolutely amazed at how great it was! It was only 2 minutes walk from the old town square yet was still quiet at night. Between the four of us we had two rooms, one on the 1st floor and one on the 4th floor. The room on the 4th floor consisted of one room with a kitchenette, twin beds, a separate bathroom and a balcony, while the one on the 1st floor had a larger living area with a separate bedroom (twin beds again) but no balcony. Both rooms were great and while the 1st floor room had more space, the view from the 4th floor balcony was fantastic.

The breakfast was basic and was available 7.30am - 10.30am. The rooms were cleaned every day and were spotless when we arrived. There was a hairdryer in the bathroom and a large fridge in the kitchen. The shower was fantastic although the taps for the sink were a little noisy!

I completely agree with the below review about the food from the stalls in the old town square. Don't bother! I paid 220 koruna for some very vinergery cabbage, potato and bacon and a bottle of water, which works out as around £7! On average the prices were good though, especially for beer, with 0.5l costing around 40k (£1.50), although it can be as cheap as 25k. We went to the Czech beer festival for an evening while we were there and it was absolutely fantastic! Cheap beer, friendly people, and decent live music. If you do make it up to the Exhibition Centre, make sure you check out an evening show at Krizik's fountain. It's 220k to get in but worth every penny.

Room Tip: Some rooms have balconies and the ones that don't are a bit bigger.

We are a couple and stayed 4 days at this place. The location is perfect, close to everything. We also were lucky to get a room at the 6th floor: reccomended! Fantastic view on the old town. The personell at reception was very kind, helpful to answer to our questions and also available to give advices. We felt confortable and that contributed to have a very nice vacation in this fantastic town.
Tip for the neighbourhood sightseeings: be careful to eat at the outdoor "grilled pork" in the Old Town square.. the people there are cheating on the price! They weigh the food and charge you much more. Very rude if you complain. Not recommended.

Room Tip: ask for the 5th or 6th floor.
