“Great hotel with some deductions”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

After having done an extensive research for a suitable hotel in Prague I've chosen the Red and Blue Design Hotel. We had three double rooms (two towards the inner courtyrad and one towards the street). The rooms towards the inner courtyard are much quieter and you can leave the window open at night. The interior design is very nice - overall a very good room product. Only the cleanliness could have been better - it was noticeable dusty in the bathroom. The location is great (depending on what you are looking for). I was looking for a hotel close to the city center in a non-touristy neighbourhood. The hotel is located next to the huge landscape park "Petřínské skalky" in walking distance to the Moldau River and the city center. Very nice and safe district. The breakfast was fair but not outstanding. Unfortunately it felt like sitting in a cellar. It was very loud and quite uninviting. Unfortunately the staff didn't meet our expectations. There was no "Welcome to the hotel", no "How was your stay", no "Thank you for staying with us", no "Is there anything else I can assist you with" - I expect more from a 4* hotel. At the bar we had the feedling of disturbing the waitress, who cared more about watching the very loud ice hockey game than taking care of her guests. Nevertheless we would most probably stay again at the Red and Blue Design Hotel.

Room Tip: Room towards the inner courtyard

This was a lovely hotel in many respects, spoilt for us only by the room we were given on the top floor. These rooms (or at least some of them) are built in the roof space so have a sloping wall with no proper windows, just a skylight. This means that you can't stand up in about a third of the room without banging your head (which we did on several occasions). If we had been staying longer we would have asked to be moved to a different room. It was a shame as the hotel was clean and bright, the staff were helpful and the location was good. The breakfast was fine, not a huge choice but quite acceptable.

Very modern, clean and friendly hotel, not far from tram lines.

The staff were incredibly helpful in terms of giving us local info and directions, as well as restaurant ideas and other useful detals.

The rooms were modern, clean, neat in design, and well appointed, with a huge bath and shower.

Great breakfast as well.

All the staff were professional helpful and friendly and took time to explain the best way to get to any of the parts of the city and beyond we wanted to visit . Well appointed room with free wi-fi . Large varied choice of hot or cold breakfast different each day . Close to tram /bus network for easy access into the city

Room Tip: we stayed on the 6th floor at the rear of the hotel with great views over prague

Modern, clean hotel in a good location. Good value for money, and friendly, helpful staff.
It is a bit of a walk to the town centre but a previous review mentioned the close proximity to the tram, and the walk is interesting. The hotel is also directly opposite Petrin Hill which is well worth walking up (or taking the cable car) for its great views ,and a trip to the mirror maze. There are good local restaurants if you don't want to walk all the way into town. The breakfast is good...but they do desperately need another/better toaster as the one they have is very slow and the long queues which formed to use it were frustrating. Its a small thing but would greatly improve the breakfast experience. Free and reliable WIFI!

Very good location, very nice staff and very clean. Very comfortable beds. Breakfast was very good. Will visit again. Tram is 100 m from hotel and very nice restaurants close by. HoponHopoff stop is 200 m way from hotel.

We have just returned from a three night stay at the Red and Blue Design Hotel, Prague. The hotel is situated across the river from the Old Town but within easy walking distance from all places of interest. The hotel is modern and clean with friendly and helpful staff. We went with friends and both rooms were spacious with high ceilings and contained everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The breakfast was very good with enough variety to satisfy everyone. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and if I visit Prague again , which I do intend to, I shall definitely book into this hotel.

Room Tip: Request a room which is not overlooking the road as our friends said they were conscious of road noi...
