“Modern Perfection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2014

Visited The Red and Blue Hotel with my Girlfriend for 5 days as we explored Prague. I found this hotel exceeded my expectations greatly.

For the price we paid i thought the hotel was of excellent standard. It is not the largest of hotels but has everything you need. The Hotel was clean and very well presented with modern furnishings and (but not ultra mod and off-putting) decor. Our room matched the hotels style and although not the largest double room ive ever stayed in it was not what a would deem too small for two people so a standard double was fine for us. Modern and clean in both the room and bathroom which as you can see comes in either red or blue style.

The hotel staff were really helpful with maps and direction as well as advice and spoke pretty good English for the most part.. and breakfast was simple but good, pretty much what i would expect with easily enough seats and tables to accommodate its guests in another well presented area of the hotel.

We visited Prague in the summer so the winter was not an issue for us and in fact we took advantage of the air con quite often.

The Hotels situated about 30 mins from the airport and not dead center in Prague but that works out well because its nice and quiet and about a 10-15min walk max to the city center across some very scenic bridges. Also of course it is a 1 min walk from the tram lines as well so getting around is very very easy.

Due to it being hot and nice when we went we explored a lot by foot in the first few days and then planned other day trips later. By night the same is true, walking distance to the center of Prague or a couple stops on the tram. Easy.

I would recommend if you like Mexican food the following restaurant as its near the hotel and the best mexican food ive ever had - http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g274707-d694910-Reviews-Cantina-Prague_Bohemia.html

As for things to do, if your going in the summer i would say the Castle, Prague square, The Zoo, The Museum and some of the Cathedrals are all worth doing and cheap to do.

Overall we loved our stay in charming Prague and the Red and Blue hotel only added to this experience but being an excellent accommodation for our trip. Would 100% return

We stayed as a couple at this hotel in April 2013 for x3 nights.

The room itself was amazing (we were in a 'Blue Design' room) - very clean and modern. The bathroom had a large bath and was nicely decorated. The room was cleaned to a high standard everyday and we had a large plasma screen T.V aswell. The hotel had free Wifi that also came in very handy as we took a tablet with us. Everything was explained to us when we arrived.

Staff at times could seem 'sharp' however this may just have been how we perceived things. We had breakfast included in our trip and we were always pleased with the choice of food (both hot and cold). The breakfast area was always clean and the food was regularly changed.

The hotel itself was not located in a central area (this is not a negative!). Most of the time we walked to the river and found our way to central Prague from there - we were given lots of diffferent maps to use and it was fairly easy to navigate the city.

There was a tram stop at the end of the road and after a bit of research on our tablet we braved them - (I would recommend something to view tram maps on prior to attempting them to get familiar with tram numbers and desinations). It's an odd payment system - pay beforehand at ticket machines located at the tram stops and then get the ticket punched on the tram. It wasn't very easy to find a simple explanation of this and at the start we accidently rode for free :/ There was also an underground metro system located at the end of the high street however we never used this.

There were plenty of restaurants near to the hotel and we were totally spoilt for choice! We both commeneted on our return about how we hadn't had a single bad meal in prague bearing in mind we ate lunch & dinner for 4 days - one of the days we had a meal right next to Charles Bridge and it was a wonderful experience. Food was quite cheap dependant on where we went

On arriving at the hotel we were given lots of information regarding the sights around Prague that helped us to decide what and where we wanted to spend our time. We visited the main square and Astronomical Clock - even braved climbing the tower, took a boat trip down the river, visited the metronome overlooking the city and climbed Petrin Tower. There were also lots of shops & bridges to explore. We had alot of fun just wandering around th city without a particular plan.

We enjoyed our trip greatly and would definitely return to Prague in the future at this hotel :)

Room Tip: We were on the second floor in a 'Blue Design. This faced internally with no view.

I loved everything about this hotel -- the modern handsome spacy room (worth paying a few extra dollars for the superior), the location 5 minutes walk from the river and 15 minutes to the heart of town, and the view to the trees of the park, and the price which was more then fair.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the upper floor facing the park.

I stayed here with my wife towards the end of last year for a long weekend. The both of us really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were really comfortable, modern and clean. The location was spot on - we really enjoyed walking up to the observatory nearby. We didn't eat at the hotel save for breakfast which was a typical continental breakfast with a couple of hot items. It was all of a good quality.

All in all we really enjoyed and would certainly return and recommend to our friends.

Stayed here for 3 nights recently and the rooms are nicely decorated, big comfy beds, pillows and a sofa in the room. the bathroom has a shower over the bath and everything was very clean and maids cleaned everyday. It is 10 mins walk to Charles bridge or hop on a tram at the bottom of the road. It is a quiet location but within walking distance of all sights. I would definitely stay a again a nice hotel.

Good location knowledgeable staff food at breakfast varied (not variable!) tasty, room very clean and bright. Before arrival we contacted the hotel to ask if we could have a double room rather than twin and bath rather than shower. Got very fast response to say no probs on both. Recommend you do same if you have a preference.

Would we go back to this hotel....probably!

We stayed in the Red and Blue Design Hotel.. Its a modern hotel and being an Architect I loved the colour theme followed in the hotel spaces. Nice rooms ,good wifi connection in the rooms. We had only the breakfast buffet and it was phenomenal. Lots of option for vegetarian food as well. Its an interesting walk from the hotel till the bridge area with restaurants, shops, view of the palace from the streets... good connectivity to local transport as well. Over all our stay was memorable :)
