Our 9 day holiday with Shearings to Prague and Vienna consisted of a one night stop over in Liege at the Ramada Plaza Hotel arriving around 1900/1930 in time for our evening meal - a very nice hotel, our room being very nice indeed and with on-suite facilities. Day 2 consisted of an early breakfast with an early start on the road making our way to Prague and our 2 night stay at the Hotel Jurys Inn. Again we arrived at our Hotel around 1800. Our Hotel was excellent and was matched by our evening meal and breakfast the following morning. Once breakfast was over we went on a guided tour of the Old Town Square with its many attractions, a must for everyone, also taking in the waterfront area. Once the tour was over we then had free time to ourselves. Our meal that evening was as expected, "lovely". The following morning the regime was the same - early breakfast then on our way to Vienna for three nights. Our Hotel in Vienna was to say the least of our favourites in all ways - it`s location, the blandness of the room, selection of food, "smile" free staff, could not have the air con on even though was 20 degrees staff stating "it was not summer". Our room was at the front of the hotel and was extremely noisy due to the amount of traffic through the night. The food was basic to say the least. Dining area was totally bland, our plates were removed the moment our utensils touched the plate......We had the greatest of pleasures in visiting the Schonbrunn Palace, magnificent absolutely magnificent. Unfortunately we had only approx 30 mins here and should have the whole day here. Part of this day out was to have "gone to The Spanish Riding School" this according to the itinerary? We did`nt see the Ringstrasse either...Enough said....The penalitmate day saw us driving to Budapest to spend about 5 hours here and have a guided tour should you so wish. This is definately a place to visit. Our last day of our holiday saw us travel on a long journey through some beautiful countryside on route to Frankfurt to our Hotel Movenpick. The best Hotel by Far. The evening meal and breakfast was by far the best. Excellent. Our journey home consisted of a stop at at a very picturesque place called Rudesheim where we had a boat trip on the Rhine lasting 90mins. Money well spent. The last part of our journey saw us take an extremely long drive to Lille and a overnight stay at the Novotel Hotel where the rooms were basic but the food was nice. The following morning home. The downside of this type of holiday we found was; a three country visit for a 8 day holiday was a journey to far, ie literaly living out of a suitcase; the travel itinerary was to much for the short stay at each location; it is summed up as, early evening arrival, early rise for early breakfast then on the road; distance between destinations; the holiday makers on our coach were not exactly friendly but standoffish and slow to talk and mingle. We were lucky to have had the opportunity to watch 2 videos. As the journey we were on was so long it would have made it easier for all concerned had more the 2 videos were played and maybe music could have been played also. Their was no comments made by either of the drivers on any points of interest throughout the journey, this would have lightened the atmosphere with those travellers who were stand offish. The upside of our journey was the views of the beautiful countryside the nice hotels mentioned, the Rhine cruise, the Schonbrunn Palace, Prague. Glad we did this journey but would undertake a 3 Country coachtrip again. Would use Shearings again but not of this type of journey
