“Hidden Gem of Prague”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2014

Went to this restaurant on our first night in Prague and had a fantastic Czech meal, beer and desert, all for a very reasonable price. Have to search a bit to find it but it's worth it. The staff were pleasant and the restaurant had a good atmosphere. Would definitely return!

“Delicious and Cheap food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2014

Simple place right in the center. But don't let that fool you, the food here is excellent. Definitely a must. English menu + english-speaking waitstaff. Ordered a couple beers, goulash (wow, this was excellent), potato croquettes (couldn't get enough of that goulash and wanted to sop it up with more food), pear and cheese chicken with fries (holy smokes this was amazing), and warm raspberry + ice cream desert (hit the spot at the end).

The food was amazing. Yes, it's that good.

Came out to about 400 czk.

Cash only, atm half a block away. No wifi. No smoking.

Enjoy the food, expect the 10% service/tourist "fee". Service was of the usual czech variety, so be patient, it's normal.

“Cheap and tasty goulash!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2014

I was impressed with the cheap (~3.5EUR) and very tasty goulash they offered. The staff was a little bit unfriendly and seemed annoyed with us asking questions. Nice place for a couple.

“Great place close to center, good price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

I came across U Knihovny when looking for a nice place for a date near Starometska station. The date didn't work out so well (nothing to do with the place!) but I've been back a couple times since.

It's one of those gems in central Prague that has good food and isn't expensive. Definitely worth a meal here if you're around, don't hesitate!

“Great value for money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

Very close to Charles Bridge, but not as expensive as you might expect. On the contrary, we had one of the cheapest meals in Prague at this restaurant. Also, it was amazing! The roasted duck was perfect and so was the beef steak with cranberries.
