“Best place to eat in Prague!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

I was recently reminded of this place when a friend asked for recommendations, although it is in the center just off Wenceslas Square the food is very cheap and the quality is good too! Our first visit was in the evening and although it was quite full we found a table and a waitress took our order for beer while we looked at the menu (Beer was good too!) we were surprised at the size of the portion size one persons meal was the size of 2 portions in many places elsewhere!
We returned to Prague a year later and called in for lunch and ordered a sharing platter for 2 as we knew there would be more than enough for 3 and we were not wrong!!! - I will say one warning though - Stinky Joes fingers are called that for a reason - it is a VERY strong smelling cheese and even after wrapping in a serviette and placing in an ash tray on another table - we could still smell it lol!!! Definitely a place to go if you are ever in Prague - you won't be disappointed!

“Outstanding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

Everytime I come back to Prague I always visit this place a few timwa, really good food, cheap, nice atmosphere and not far from any of the touristy bits, especially Wenceslas Square. In fact, it's so good I'm off there right now for dinner!

“First night in Prague, great welcome at this place.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013 via mobile

Only a hop, skip & a jump from Wenceslas Square but considerably better value and a but quieter. It still has a great atmosphere.

This is partly helped by the fact you probably will share a table with others and you will, naturally, talk to the people next to you. We shared our table (& some dumplings) with two French travellers.

Beer was as good as you expect in the Czech Republic - they certainly know what they're doing. Food very tasty and plenty of it. We had one pork knuckle and some ribs. Both very tender; both very meaty.

The staff are very friendly. Service is prompt but not overbearing. The place has a good back story (look up the Rope Maker's Wife). At around 650 crowns for two excellent meals and drinks, this was a fabulous example if what Prague can offer, right in the heart of the city.

“Outdoor dining, good food, near all the action”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

On a quiet side street away from the hustle and bustle, we ate outside and enjoyed a good meal. The meal was fine and the service was pleasant. Nice place to eat near the quarter.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013 via mobile

We came here on our second day in prague - my husband was dying for schintzel and this place didnt dissapoint. Good sized dishes for the price and the food come quickly and the servers are always fast to bring another beer.

Would come here again for sure!
