We made a stop at the Ebel Cafe and very much enjoyed our stop here.
The inside serving and seating area is very small with only one small sitting table and another for standing. It was warm, cosy and a bit of an intimate place for a homemade cup of coffee, something aficionados will appreciate.
The barista was friendly and recommended her favourite two coffee beans. There were perhaps 25-30 varieties to choose from, mostly Central and South American varieties but a few African chooses as well. No Asian beans on the menu unfortunately.
After you choose which bean, you simply select how you want the coffee prepared, just like ordering at a franchise coffee shop. There is wall picture explaining the many different coffee types if you need assistance.
The barista then pulled down the jars of the Puerto Rican and Tanzania varieties we choose, ground them and brewed up two very nice cups of coffee (55kr each). We enjoyed the Puerto Rican a bit more but they were both very enjoyable on their own without sugar (rating 3.5 of 5).
We also sampled the nice looking carrot cake (70kr) that was moist and very flavourful, went very well with the coffee drinks (rating 4 of 5).
In the end, we really enjoyed this little stop and would be happy to visit again for coffee and cakes. This was a memorable little place to visit.
