“Wish we found it sooner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

On a previous trip, my husband had been to a churrascuria restaurant. Meat on a stick was how he described it. During our family holiday to Prague, we spent all three evenings looking for this restaurant. Of course, we discovered many other tasty restaurants, but not this one. Lo and behold on our last evening in Prague, we discovered it was just around the corner from our hotel.

If you are staying in the old quarter near Wenceslas Square (or more accurately, rectangle), and if you head towards the Old (Gun)Powder Tower, you will be in the general direction. Can't give you more specifics than that.

We weren't sure what to do, and the waitress is very helpful with the instructions. It's very simple. You are given a coaster that is red on one side and green on the other. When you are ready to eat, you turn it to green. When you are done, you turn it to red.

The meals are very generous. I think after conversion, it works out to around £25 per meal, not including drinks. For this you get a wonderful and endless array of antipasto, sushi, salad, and fruit. When you are ready you turn your coaster to green, and along come the waiters with "meat on sticks" who will slice a portion off for you. At first it seems rather stingy. Small slices of meat that look like it will do little to fill you. But each waiter comes along with a different cut - pork, beef, chicken, and other innards like liver or kidney. It's a very good way to try many different cuts of meat at very low risk. The baked pineapple was divine. Everything was delicious and there was so much on offer.

I very much wished we could have stayed longer to dine more leisurely. But we had only about an hour to eat before rushing back to the hotel to catch our flight. Still we pretty much rolled out of the place.

Add this restaurant to your itinerary if ever you are in Prague.

“Very good buffet and excellent meat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2012

When I fly to Prague, I always land at Ambiente (pay attention: there are 2 restaurants with this name!). Food is variuos, always very good, fresh and tasty meat "all you can eat" and to start a very mixed buffet. Fish and sushi are also inclusive.
Personnel is kind and "quite" not to slow...:-)
Only one remark: because it practically impossible to find a sit if not booked in advance, who answer to the phone should at least write down the name of the person: already 2 times it happened that I called and booked, but arrived there any booking on my name was registered....
Cost from 45 to 65 Euro depending from drinks.

“Excellent food at very good value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

I've visited several churrasco restaurants in the world, but this one is arguably the best in terms of value. You get a appetizer buffet with sushi, sashimi, oysters and a lot of other great stuff - and then the meat experience - all for 665CZK.

A lot of churrasco restaurants seem to offer you some pretty average stuff, to fill you up before offering the good stuff. No here. Everything we had was very good.

Please note: There are two Brasiliero restaurants in Prague. We first visited the one on U Radnice, which happened to be full, and also fully booked for the next night. They appeared to be rather arrogant and didn't even bother to let us know about the other restaurant on Na Prikope. We happened to know it existed, went there, and they had plenty of room. Unlike the first one, the service was very good, so we ended up very happy with our choice.

“Totally desapointed, really not a gourmet experience”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

Went on saturday evening with freinds. The meat is NOT PREPARED IN WOOD GRILL - a huge minus, in my eyes. When I order pizza, I want it to be made on wood. Same with meat skewers. On top of it, the meat was so over-marinated that it could be crocodile meat and you would not feel the difference with beef. I was hoping that it would be just with salt/peper and different sauces on table...
The buffet was not interesting at all - seafood salad just poured from a can, strong vinegar taste with some more or less chewy pieces, "dry" oysters, sushi or a bad immitation of sushi where you have to take a magnifying glass to see small piece of filling/topping...etc.

Even if the restaurant was not full, it was very noisy. Do not understand some waiters doing strange animal noises/immitations as they came to our table. Maybe it was supposed to be funny, but as the time passed by, we were wondering if everything was all right in their hads.

And last but not least, they charged us for 3 bottles of wine, instead of 2! The total bill was almost 200 EUR for 4 people! Do not recommend! And if you still want to try, check the bill, please...
