We stayed for 2 nights at the GreenYacht Hotel.
The luxury room for the price of around €128 was in my opinion too overpriced. Even the the room looked much better than the Romantic Room. Most of the stuff jn the luxury room was of low quality, e.g. the bed sheets and the bed itself was not really comfortable. The bathtub was nice, but some parts were made of plastic components (a bit disappointing). TV channels were surprisingly nice with 2 German channels. The air conditioner was a bit too loud during the night.
Concerning the breakfast: very sufficient. Due to few guests we received a basic platzer with cheeses and ham, a small salad, etc. Also, on demand we could ask for eggs n sausages, omlettes, czech pancakes etc. This was very nice! As mentioned, more than sufficient.
What we did not like at all was the breakfast time (from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m), in our opinion a bit short.
Location was a bit sad. Even though Prague is not that big in terms of the tourist area, the average travel time from the botel to the city was 25 minutes. Also, unfortunately we had bad weather which means we had to walk slowly and carefully through the mud... Further the area seemed a bit remoted, also a bit scary! On the other hand, it was very quiet during night.
The best about the GreenYacht Hotel was the staff. All were really really nice and attentive. Handing out maps, public transportation tickets, umbrellas, etc. All in all, without the staff the hotel would be only one point out of five. That's why we would only come again due to the friendly staff.
My main dissapointments were, to conclude, the value concerning the price and room equipments, and the location (which is okay for travelling, and also the Hotel cannot do anything about it).
What we liked most is thr staff, probably one of the best in our life.
I would recommend the hotel for one stay, just for the experience.
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- History of the GreenYacht Hotel & Restaurant. Originally serving in Hamburg as the club flagship of the former Czech state shipping company CSPL, which was later to end in bankruptcy, this clubhouse boat was a part of the Peutehafen port which Czechoslovakia rented under the provisions of the Treaty of Versailles. Built in Bremen in 1979, it served as clubhouse, restaurant, cinema and boarding house for Czech employees in Hamburg. Typical Czech food was cooked here Pilsner beer was on draught, and all for Czech prices. No wonder then that the club house vessel enjoyed great popularity in Hamburg. However, when the affairs of the CSPL were wound up, the clubhouse eventually had to close too.Jan Vlcek, with his passion for boats and for golf and as the visionary and motive force behind the project, took part in the tender process, bidding successfully against German interested parties who wanted to turn it a floating "public house". Winning the tender, however, was just the beginning of the clubhouse vessel's highly complicated journey from Hamburg to Prague. In December 2012 re-branded from golfYacht Prague to GreenYacht Hotel & Restaurant. ... more less
