“Awesome choice!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2012

One of the warmest welcome we've ever had! LARGE apartments. Very clean! Great quality/price ratio. It's located about 100 meters away from the town square. We would definitely like to stay here in the future whenever we visit České Budějovice.
The best word that fits the description of the apartment is "WOW"...!

Easy to book on Kayak, nice bar downstairs felt safe inside the square and tons of things to do if you wish to visit this city as a local.

For under thirty dollars us per person (4 people) we stayed in a hotel room bigger and nicer than most homes. We casually mentioned taking a bus to Germany and the next day was a binder of custom printed off maps, locations, prices, sitting inside our room, I've considered since renting a room here for a month and living in Czech as a holiday.

I can't say enough as to how great this location, size and price was of this stay.

Food in this city was exquisite

The tastefully renovated historic building is an apartment or suite that they’ve rented out also as hotel rooms. A drawback however, to this place is that there is no elevator so if your room is on the top floor like ours was, you have to hike up 3 sets of stairs (3 flights/floor so 9 flights altogether). The apartment was a very clean and roomy studio with a full-on kitchen which included a reefer, stove and microwave plus dishes and utensils. There was a king-sized bed, a small dining table with 2 chairs, a couch and coffee table. There also was a balcony outside of the living room area with a nice table and a couple of chairs however, there really wasn’t any city view but instead a view of the other buildings surrounding the apartments.

Our bathroom was roomy however it just had a shower and no bathtub. It did have a small washing machine which was great for us. The only drawbacks were that it took about 1.5 hrs/wash and it wasn’t a washer/dryer combination however, we hung our clothes out on hangers we found in the closet and our clothes dried by morning if we opened the windows.

There was free wi-fi in the room and the TV had several English speaking stations.

We found the front desk and housekeeping staff to be excellent and extremely helpful. Our room came with breakfast and that was probably the one thing that we disliked the most. The service during the regular week was quick and fine although we really didn’t have a choice (like a buffet) of entries. You got whatever they had available for that day to eat. On Saturday, perhaps because these apartments weren’t full, the service was horrible and it didn’t seem to bother the server that customers were seated in the room and hadn’t even been brought juice and/or coffee service.

The apartments are located within the several blocks of the city center so we were in walking distance of the town square which offered little shops, restaurants, bakeries and small markets as well as historical churches and sites to see. There are also several places that exchanged money as well as several banks available during the week.

Parking was available although the lot was located a couple of blocks away from the apartments. It was a rather scuzzy looking lot which initially made us wonder about the safety and security of the place until we realized that it was located right next to the police station. That calmed our fears quickly!

Located in a quiet area just about a hundred meters from the central square, this place was perfect and far exceeded any expectations I might have had - one learns to be a bit skeptical when browsing presentations on booking web sites... but the apartment was exactly as in the photos!

I did book a "family suite" for our little family reunion, so I knew it would be big - but I did not expect it to be THAT big. It felt like you could easily make a party for 100 people... in the living room only :-)

All rooms had contemporary furniture (not much of it, but then again - what does one need when traveling?), kitchen was well equipped, there were even two separate bathrooms - first attached directly to one of the bedrooms, second on the corridor towards the other bedroom.

The girls at reception were friendly and helpful too - even searching bus timetables on the internet when I asked about connections to nearby Cesky Krumlov. In the apartment block, there is also a restaurant and as a guest, you get a discount - but I cannot tell anything about it, we never managed to get there, we always ate in the restaurants on the main square or elsewhere in the city.

Room Tip: At 110 square meters, the 2-bedroom "family apartment" was a great deal.

We loved the apartment, it was new, big, comfortable and really nice, with two floors.
The residence is very near the main square / city center, you can't ask for more!
We can only recommend it, also the staff is very nice and helpful.

Huge 2-floor flat for very reasonable price, plenty of amenities including washing machine etc. Be aware that there isnt a lift and the stairs need a resonable amount of stamina. Breakfast was optional - wouldnt bother next time as the hotel facilities were fairly stark with little option. The town square is only a minute away and offers much more choice. Definately visit Ceske Krumlov - an amazing medieval town nearby.

Overall, the impression is good. The place offers nice staff and a good price/quality ratio. The location is fantastic for anyone wishing to visit Ceske Budejovice and/or make trips to the beautiful surrounding countryside with lakes, castles etc. A great place to stay for a couple or for a family.
There are however some things that could be improved.
The restaurant downstairs is excellent but closed on Sunday.
The matress of the bed sat on a flat board rather than on standard wooden slats, which made the bed feel quite uncomfortable. Certainly not a bed suitable for people with back/spine problems. This should be improved as comfortable beds are obviously key to an accommodation facility.
The apartment is nice and well equipped but a dishwasher is missing in the kitchen. On a short stay typical for a city apartment house I would have preferred a dishwasher to a washing machine which was there, apparently not too frequently used.
You can park in the street or use their own inexpensive car park round the corner. I never used it though, because the parking in the street is free from 6pm until 10am and I was able to find a free spot every day.
