“major fire at the resort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2011

This resort had a major fire that destroyed the main lodge building, most if not all cottages were not affected, however I suspect the facility will be closed for some time to come

White Point Beach resort is a comfortable; charming property, seaside, with fireplaces and a
staff that is more than attentive to every need! My travel companions and I had Hilltop, a 3 Br with a view of the Ocean. We attended the 4th annual International Ukulele Ceilidh and filled
the Resort with music and song. What a perfect weekend! The staff....SUPERB...the food...SUPERB. The ambiance...SUPERB!!!!

Room Tip: Seaside cabins and larger, hilltop cabins among the pines...either is spectacular! STUNNING!!

We just had our wedding at WhitePoint and couldn't be happier we did. The service was incredible and our food was amazing. Considering they had to serve 150 people all at once, that's a feat. In taking care of all our guests, the staff went above and beyond in every case we heard about and no one left unhappy!

The scenery is amazing and will definitely be returning!

My husband and I have visted White Point many times and we are never disappointed. We generally stay in a cottage either on the beach or on the hill just above.
It is so romantic and really allows us the opportunity to truly relax. The sounds of the ocean, the warm and cozy fireplace, great food and FANTASTIC staff are what bring us back again and again.

We enjoyed two days at White Point in August for our anniversary. The scenery is stunning and we enjoyed falling asleep each evening to the sound of the ocean waves lapping against the shore.

We stayed in the main lodge which needs just a bit of updating (although I see they plan to do this during the coming winter). The service at the front desk, the spa, and the dining rooms was excellent, despite the fact that there was a large wedding at the resort that weekend. All in all, a very relaxing weekend away!

We stayed in a two bedroom cottage on the ocean and had a fantastic view. The cottage could use a good cleaning (cob webs, bugs in tub and on counter). But overall the charm out weighed the
cobwebs. We had dinner in the dining room the first nite we arrived and ordered of the menue the seafood chowder was one of the best I have had and my steak was done to perfection my wife salmon was equally sublime. The breakfast in the morning left a little to be desired we arrived at 7:30
when it was opened there we a few other tables but we had to wait for someone to come and ask if we wanted coffee and order of the menue or have the buffet. We had the buffet a mistake we were one of the first customers in the morning and everthing was cold from the eggs sausage and hashbrowns. There was supposed to be a omlet station and it was there but the chef did not arrive while we were there. We would go back for breakfast but order off the menue we went into Liverpool the next morning to Lanes for Breakfast and it was excellent. Overall the stay at Whitepoint was great but we have learned from past experience to stay away from their buffets (breakfast and dinner) and order off the menue . The staff used to be fun loving and always cheerful in the dining room however this year at dinner our waitress must have been there on a bad day I think if she smiled or made eye contact we might have fainted she must have been having a bad day.

We stayed at White Point Beach Resort from October 21 - 23. This was our third trip to this resort and it didn't disappoint.

We stayed in cabin 31, which is the last one in the second row up from the beach. You can still hear the sounds of the waves ashore and see just a glimpse of the ocean. Although older, the cabins are rustic and well equipped. Our cabin had a double bed and a single in the bedroom. There was a mini fridge, coffee maker with complimentary coffee and tea, a small bathroom with tub and shower, and a lovely living room with fire place. Lot's of wood is available in the wood box on your deck. Lots of towels and extra blankets as well.

There are bunnies everywhere, with complimentary bunny food available at the lobby.

There is a large area with tennis courts, horseshoe pits and shuffleboard.

The main lodge has an indoor pool, jacuzzi and games room.

The lounge had live entertainment and was hopping.

We ate from the buffet, it was excellent. Our first night was chicken, ribs and haddock. The second night was hip of beef and plank salmon. One member of our party had the lobster and enjoyed it very much. We had the same waitress both nights, Jen. She was exceptional.

Finally, the beach, oh the beach. The beach is spectacular. It is beautiful to walk, to look at and just to listen to the ocean sounds. There are areas just up from the beach where you can sit around a firepit.

This is an excellent resort for families, couples and singles. Just a great place to relax, play or whatever suits you. Go and enjoy!
