“Does not deserve five-stars”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

The beach in front of the hotel is beautiful with soft sand and great view. Rooms were big and spacious but insufficient lighting, pool was small but good enough for playing in. The staff was friendly but we had communication problems. There are only a few who were conversant in English. The others know a bit but they just say 'yes' or 'ok' even when they don't understand what we want! Wifi is almost none existent. This is a 'green' hotel so their hot water for bathing is powered by the sun. Meaning no sun, no hot water. Also at night no hot water. Definitely not value for money. They didn't even have any thread and needle! Maybe not a common request but its good to have some on standby.

Room Tip: The rooms are two-storey cottages. If you want more privacy choose the rooms upstairs. But not sure...

We got the transfers from the airport through the hotel, the flight was late getting in but it was very nice that the hotel staff were there waiting for us, with a packet of nuts and cold water for the 2 hour transfer to the hotel.
We stayed 5 nights in a suite room, which was a bedroom and a sitting room the only thing we used the sitting room for was to put the suitcases in and use the balcony of it as the one from the bedroom do not overlook the sea. The bathroom had a the normal shower head and a hand held shower after complaining that we had no hot water I was told that the normal shower arrangement only had cold water and we had to use the stop cock on the wall for the other hand held shower for the warm water, this was the only room with electric warm water, I don't know what the other rooms were like with there plumbing but this was really primitive. There is building work going on at this hotel and even though work is not suppose to start to early, they were banging away from 7am some mornings and on Sundays as well. We found it a bit annoying that if you want a hot drink in the room you need to go to the restaurant to get hot water as they do not have an electric kettle in the room, I did read tripadvisor that they did not have hair driers so we took our own. The restaurant was very good, the food, the staff the setting even different coloured table clothes on different nights. We did do the underground river tour through the hotel, which went very well.

The good: Amazingly beautiful location, well appointing rooms, good food
The challenges: FIX YOUR PAYMENT SYSTEMS...absolutely ridiculous. WIFI could be better. Consider booking your own tours, they seem to be completely inflating the costs. Overall cost of rooms is pretty expensive.

Room Tip: if your going to stay here, the place is expensive, so might as well do for a deluxe or better

We stayed here for three nights and four days last July 2012 (I know, super delayed review). Our group consisted of four kids (ages 5 - 9), three teenagers, four senior citizens and four grown ups. We occupied the whole of the second floor and one suite room on the ground floor. We were lucky, the weather was good when we were there. The place is very clean. The rooms are spacious enough and the beds are very comfortable. The staff are very courteous and very helpful. The only thing I didn't like is the water pressure of the shower in the bathroom..it could be better. But the showers on the pool side and by the beach are very good, so you can shampoo your hair there if you want. It's not a typical hotel. It's more like a bed and breakfast place. You feel like you are on vacation in your own resort! They even do a turndown service which the kids liked because of the sweets!
The resort was fully booked when we were there, but we didn't noticed!!! It was really like, we had the place all to ourselves. The WI-fi was only accessible in the lobby.
The food...it was divine. We basically just ordered the Filipino dishes, but it was good!!! And the price, very reasonable considering it was in a remote place. I would say, it was the same price as in the city.
On our last night, we requested to have a dinner set up by the beach. And when they heard that it was the birthday of one of the kids, the chef baked a cake (free of charge)!!! and it was a good size cake!!! And they even serenaded the birthday boy:)
We will definitely come back someday. Our package had the breakfast included. It was a buffet breakfast which had Filipino and international dishes as well. Again, the food was great!!! There was many selection.
Daluyon organized our tour for the underground river and we availed of their shuttle service. Bruce, the supervisor, who I was dealing with was very patient and fast in answering all my email queries, especially the status of our tour for the underground river. Many thanks again Bruce!!!

Stayed here with my husband and young son in May 2013. We had such a lovely time. The rooms were very nice and had beautiful furniture and a lot of character. Resort is situated in a garden setting that was perfect for children to toddle around. The rooms face the beach which is gorgeous. The food was very nice, particularly the Filipino food. We also ate at other resorts nearby. The staff were always helpful, polite and accommodating. They organised a tour of the underground river and the mangroves for us. I would definitely go back to Sabang and my first choice of accommodation would be Daluyon.

Room Tip: Rooms on the ground floor are best for young children.

Nice - more expensive - place to stay. We hadn't booked anything for Sabang yet so ended up spending more more than planned (backpacking in Palawan) - but it was worth it. Nice big rooms with a HUGE compfy bed and very clean. The lady at the front desk has an attitude but everybody else was extremely nice. Great food - mashed potatoes and seafood and the deserts... very yummy!! We would recommend this!

As I've said in my first review, I would return to Daluyon and my husband and I stayed again during our recent visit to Sabang. It does not disappoint, still provides good service and good food. Will return again.
