We visited the Talbot with my sister in law and her partner, we all had excellent meals and enjoyed our visit. We will be coming back again.

“Guaranteed to have great food and a warm welcome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2012

The Talbot is by far the best place to eat in the village, the food is always of a good standard, the selection of beer & wine is varied and of good quality and the service is faultless.

Definitely worth a visit or detour when passing through.

“We visit again and again”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2012

We visited the Talbot every week for about 6months. The food is always delicious, the staff are always wonderful and the menu is always exciting and slightly different as well as being accommodating to food requests. Whenever we have had problems with our food (once the stake was too tough) they have tried their best to rectify it or offer a refund but it has never put us off dining here!

The decoration is beautiful with candles/fresh flowers and the atmosphere is quiet but comfortable.

Unfortunately were raving about the pub to friends and took a group of 12 of us in there for Sunday lunch.... after ordering, we were told that we didn't get bread/oils/balsamic vinegar before the meal "because it was a sunday"... and the prawn cocktails didn't come with bread "because it was a sunday".... as well as finding the portion sizes to be smaller.

Overall, its a perfect place to dine! I just wish they'd put the Pate with Redcurrent Jelly & Onions back on the menu!!

“Amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2012

My friend and I went here recently for lunch, we were greeted with a warm welcome by the staff. We sat on a lovely table next to an open log fire, which was lovely on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Our drinks we're served promptly by the bar staff as we pondered over the menu for a few minutes. We then decided on ordering the soup of the day (which was French onion soup topped with giant cheesy croutons) which was delicious. Then for mains I enjoyed the pie of the day, served with hand cut chunky chips, seasonal vegetables and proper gravy!! My friend decided to go for the highly recommended beer battered cod and chips, which again was cooked to perfection, which lived up to its expectations! Excellent value for money, will defiantly be returning soon!
