Lovely place, with a stunning building. The staff were really friendly. And best of all the food was amazing. Would recommend to anyone.

“Celebration”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012

We had an excellent dinner here to celebrate excellent GCSE results! The food was delicious and beautifully presented and the service was attentive without being intrusive. We were made to feel very welcome. We had two young children with us and their 'simple' dietary requirements were easily and happily accommodated. We would all recommend the Winery to anyone looking for something a little different and special.

“At last, quality in St. Austell”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2012

Discovered by accident despite living nearby.- but only recently moved to this area. The
atmosphere struggled a bit on this night because we were the only people there and the august
evening weather was vile.
Our waiter certainly knew his menu. Pork terrine and monkfish both excellent. crab and
champagne risotto really excellent. My guest had his usual rant about the greek salad having
olives in brine and not oil.
We paid a fair price for what we had - good quality fresh original food.

“Amateurish despite lovely setting”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2012

Clearly a lot of hard work has gone in to making this a beautiful setting. Seven of us had gone for a meal here on their Spanish night and the atmosphere was great. However, the service was terrible - the waiters didn't really seem to know what they were doing and would hold out plates saying 'I don't know what it's called but I think someone ordered it'. I asked what sauce the halibut came with and the waiter looked nonplussed and just said 'herbs and stuff'. My dish was fine but the two that had the fillet steak (£22) said they asked for medium rare and it was ruined by the fact that it had been cooked well done. It was also odd that we weren't given a wine list (despite the place being a winery) and that there wasn't any Spanish wine or sherry on offer on a Spanish night. Three of our group had puddings (pumpkin cheesecake and bread and butter pudding) and said that both options were too stodgy to really enjoy. This place could really be improved by having staff who know the menu and know how to talk to customers. If I were to come here again I'd probably try and see what their normal menu is like and keep my fingers crossed.

“Great Discovery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2012

Delighted to find such a lovely restaurant so close to home. We dropped by earlier in the week to have a look & a quick lunch. Spotted the Spanish evening tonight & came back. Had a lovely meal. Excellent service & a good atmosphere. We especially enjoyed the guitar player. A good place for dinner for two or for a larger party.
