Sitting in the sunshine looking over at the village green and church, enjoying tea and lemon and gooseberry bakewell tart, life doesn't get much better. Very good choice of cakes. Attentive service - menu even includes the offer of sun cream if sitting outside! Last summer when we visited the tea room Alan Bennett, the playwright, was on the next table (he was appearing at the Holt Festival), and he was polite enough to move over to a bench on the village green when he wanted to make a call on his mobile phone. I can't guarantee you will meet anybody famous but the tea room experience is very worthwhile.
