“Another great stay in the Kentish Countryside”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

The Bowl Inn is our little secret so im in 2 minds about writing this review! Basically its a bnb above a lovely old pub called the Bowl Inn. The rooms are individual and cosy, the staff are great and the setting is incredible (especially if you are a keen walker or cyclist) The breakfast in the morning is generous and tasty. We've stayed here 3 times now and use it as a jumping off point to explore the picturesque villages and breathtaking views of the North Kent Downs.

The pub does a limited bar snack menu but can offer helpful suggestions for various local restaurants. Theres a fab pub/restaurant just up the road called the Plough that is superb.

Can't big this place up enough!

Room Tip: There's 1 room with a 4 poster bed, worth asking if its available.

Stayed for one night whilst on the North Downs Way walk. The dog friendly room was excellent, with its own private secure garden. Beer was good, and the "round" pool table was amazing! The staff were very friendly, and the breakfast lovely - just what was needed for our next leg of the walk.

absolutely delighted to find one of the rare breed "good pub" so conveniently located for an overnight stay near channel tunnel just a few minutes from motorway. warm welcome from exceptionally helpful staff. lovely room, beautifully furnished, very clean, very comfy bed (we slept like tops), generous hospitality tray, excellent bathroom (tub+shower, toiletries, lots of towels). we had a corner room over bar area (was still very quiet), but there are ground floor rooms with access for those with limited mobility too. also a dog friendly room available. village setting is beautiful and there´s a lovely beer garden too but really BEST of all is the old fashioned bar with simply superb ales. guest beers change regularly but 3-4 are generally available. very well kept ales indeed. very good cooked breakfast and limited, but adequate menu (substantial snacks...sausage sandwiches, ploughman´s, bacon rolls etc) in the evening. a restaurant it is NOT, and thank goodness for that. we really, really enjoyed being able to relax with a few pints after a long journey without the restrictions of restaurant dining. we´ll be back....SOON. ooohhh....and it´s very good value here too.

Lovely country pub in great location on the Downs. Very welcoming hosts, who were remarkably kind and helpful during our recent stay, when we had a major problem with our car. Look foward to visiting again.

Our overnight stay at the Bowl Inn was just right. We walked into a busy bar with a friendly atmosphere and were shown to our room which was well-equipped; everything worked. We had to leave early, before breakfast, and were given instructions for the morning on how to get out, as the bar would be locked.

All in all a very pleasant stay.

If you have a dog look no further, this really does look after your best friend and the owners you could not wish for a better place. G&T

Room Tip: you only have 1 room for pets and believe me you will not be disappointed
