Our family of three stayed in a medievil pavillion for four night 18-21 Sept. The tent iself was well stocked with everything you might need for a self catering stay including a lovely wood burning stove which kept us warm as well as cooking our food. Electric sockets in every "room" ensured that we could keep our three year old entertained in the evening with dvd's.
We went off peak which was considerably cheaper. Other reviewers have bemoaned the lack of evening entertainment but it was stated online when we booked that the eateries and entertainment would not be available so we did prepare for this. Our tent was close to the toilet/shower block which was clean and checked regularly. The underfloor heating in them was a bonus on cold mornings! The family bathroom was a nice touch as we could all get ready together. A play park was also close by.
Wood and camping supplies were available in the shop at reception, it was staffed by a very friendly Matt who also ensured we received instruction on the wood stove. Swipe cards were supplied to get us into the park which meant that there was no need to walk up to the main park entrance.
Going off peak meant that the park was fairly quiet, the rides we avoided on our summer daytrip were easy to get on. Early mornings were taken care of by the Pony Experience, just a walk with your allocated pony for an hour in the morning followed by grooming so not a bind at all. Our daughter really enjoyed this and couldn't wait to tell all her friends on our return.
Overall we thought the tent was awesome, the facilities modern and well maintained and the staff really friendly. The park itself wouldnt really be suitable for children over ten but as ours is only three we have a few years yet! Having said that the campsite is an excellent base for local attractions, or even not so local (we did a daytrip to Longleat) We would definately book again.
