“5th Visit and BDC continues to inspire!”

Another adventure-filled visit: sloths, monkeys, poison dart frogs....and on and on. It is so heart-warming to see the same staff from the very first visit and they always remember us! The food is spectacular, the views breathtaking and the tours, fishing, hiking, surfing never disappoint! Love this place and these people!

This is the third time we've been there and we will be going back again for sure! If all they had was their perfect location and grounds at Cabo Matapalo, that would be enough to bring us back. If all they had was the abundant wildlife- on the land, in the trees, and in the air- that would be enough to bring us back. If all they had was the wonderful food prepared by world class chef Maureen, that would be enough to bring us back. What is most impressive, though, is the absolutely smiley faced, warm, positive, vibe of every single person who works there from Phil and Kim, to Phillip and Carlos, to all the servers, bartenders, groundskeepers, and cleaners. Bosque keeps getting better and better. What a pleasure to stay there--we might even go without cameras next time!

We are a family of 4, with 2 kids ages 6 and 4. Bosque del Cabo was truly a wonderful place that gave us the perfect balance between fun outdoor activities such as hiking on the trails (on which we got to enjoy the sight of monkeys, toucans, macaws, peccaries, agoutis, and so much more), take a zipline and rappelling tour, walk on the Pacific trail to the beach where we swam at the incredible tidal pools with crystal waters (kids really loved it!); or at the same time we could choose to relax and just unwind laying in the hammock from our deck in the cabin, admiring the ocean. The staff is super welcoming and kind, always ready to help. It is close enough to access the beach and swim. From our cabin we could see howler monkeys, toucans, and many beautiful birds, plus we also had an amazing view of the ocean. The food was delicious and our kids really enjoyed the visit. There was a lot to do for people of all ages. It truly is a magical place!!! We can't wait to go back!!!

Truly a special place. The grounds are incredible with great hiking trails. Everyone on the staff is warm, friendly, helpful and remembers your name. The food is divine and plentiful. The "cabinas" are well maintained and extremely comfortable. The Toucan cabina, where we stayed, has incredible views of the pacific, perfect for sunrise and sunset! The owners are always on site talking with the guests, educating them on Costa Rica and the environs, or helping you to plan a great day. And the icing on the cake is the wildlife and flowers. Toucans, macaws, monkeys, etc. all right on the property as you walk around. We will be back!

Three of us stayed here and it was special. It is truly Eco-friendly and just warm and hospitable. Service is great. Walks on the trails are great...they're on the grounds with lots of wildlife and plant life. The owners were on-site and are wonderful people, very hospitable and service oriented. We were in Acacari rooms - great choice.
This place is off the grid so be ready for quiet, though you can cheat and get wifi service at the food service area.
Food was good. Bar was good and fun. Guides, Philip and Carlos, we're great.
It's a trek to get there, but worth it if you want to unwind and become connected with the environment and less beholden to our modern western conveniences.
Can't say enough good things about this place. Great job Phil and Kim!

We spent 8 nights at Bosque del Cabo last week and could not have been happier with our stay. For us it was the perfect balance of relaxation in luxury accommodations and education/discovery of a new place. We hiked every trail on the 800 acre grounds and were inspired by the level of stewardship we observed everywhere we went. The overall feel of the place is very warm and vibrant. Staff are super helpful and well informed. The food was fresh, local and very satisfying. We got straight up good value from the resort experience and feel very good about having spent our vacation dollars at a place that is truly walking the talk for ecological sustainability.

We recently stayed at Bosque del Cabo and really enjoyed ourselves.
Rooms: We got the Manglilo Cabina and it was great. The view is fantastic and the extra beds in the loft perfect for the family. The room is spacious, extremely clean and the outdoor shower wonderful. The staff were wonderful in cleaning the room and making the beds everyday. The room has a large porch overlooking the water. Picture perfect sunsets (you cannot see the sun but the colors) and the abundance of wildlife from the porch are fantastic. This was one of our favorite features of the cabina.
Food: We were fortunate to have Maureen there during our stay and she does an excellent job with the food. My wife is vegetarian and every meal has something special for her that was not boiled pasta or boiled vegetables. The menu is not extensive for lunch, but we enjoyed the sandwiches. Dinner was more elaborate and served buffet style with lots of local and western options. The portions were large. They have a very nice bar with a drink special every evening. The bartender was wonderful, fun and eager to keep you happy. They have a decent wine selection.
Service: This is where BDC stands out. Every person wants to see you smile. We were never refused anything, ever! They learn about your preferences quickly and make sure they cater to your needs. We loved the staff and everything they did for us. They took great care of our 8 year old, the staff love kids and pamper them. Thank you. They have basic wireless, but lets really enjoy the outside and what we really came here for.
Ambiance: The hotel stands on lovely grounds. We chose to come here based on our ability to do independent hikes and were glad that we chose this destination. There were tons of wildlife on the grounds while we were there, Peccaries, Toucans, Scarlet Macaws, Guans, Spider and Capuchin Monkeys. We recommend the night hike with the botanist and the Dolphin tour depending on the season.
Overall we loved our stay here and hope to be back.
