“Expected better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

We went for an anniversary dinner, and were unfortunately disappointed. I had the steak, while my partner had fish.
The steak was over cooked, and particularely salty.

It was a nice atmosphere however. Live entertainment.
Service was good until we requested the bill and then she suddenly forgot about us.

For the price we paid, we won't go back.

“No thank you”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

We went to Bistro 54 for the Father's Day brunch. The food was okay but nothing special. The service was pretty poor and the whole place seemed unprofessionally run. Tables and chairs, black. Whole place reminded us of a bar more than what should be a family friendly restaurant. We won't be back.

“(Bistro 54) - Expected Better for $20 each”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

We went there for brunch on a slow SUNDAY afternoon
It wasn't very busy and we were served right away and decided to have the serve-yourself brunch for $20 per person.
The croissants were flaky and what you would expect in Paris. These were made on-site. It went downhill from there.
The choice of fruit was the regular fare - watermelon, melon, grapes, etc. Nothing out of the ordinary.
The bacon was VERY UNDERCOOKED to the point of getting sick
The "fresh made" omellette was not cooked enough either. The chef originally cracked a fresh egg in the frying pan until my wife asked him if it should be whisked first outside the pan.
Not much else on the "all-you-can-eat" display that made us happy we chose this place.
Dessert consisted of about 3 different little squares - stale butter tart, raspberry square and brownie. Then there was some sort of dessert - pudding that my wife tried. It seemed like butterscotch with peanut butter drizzled on top (YUK!@) When we asked what it was, the waitress told us that they had an ELVIS night on Friday and Elvis liked peanut butter desserts. This was LEFTOVER from Friday night!!
With all of the great places to eat in Stittsville, this is the eplace to scratch off your list!

“The evening we were there, we would rate Bistro 54 as very good.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2012

We went to Bistro 54 last evening for dinner. We had their two for one special fish and chips for $9.99. Although the piece of fish was small, it was excellent and very adequate for us. The fish was lightly battered and crisp and the shoestring fries were very good and not greasy. We enjoyed the coleslaw with a balsamic dressing. The server was very attentive and the view of the golf greens excellent.

We have also been there for breakfast several times and it was very good.

In reading some of the reviews, I would be very disappointed to see this place close again, so let's support this restaurant. One reviewer mentioned that seniors were responsible for closing down every restaurant that was in this location. I think this is an unfair statement to make without credence and quite frankly, I only see seniors eating at this location so they are supporting the restaurant. I have not seen any of the Amberwood families who can afford to play golf and have a nice meal there and we take in this restaurant on a regular basis. Perhaps more of the Amberwood families could support this wonderful venue more often.

It would be a shame to lose such a gem. Where else can you go where you can enjoy such wonderful ambiance at affordable prices?

“Confusing reviews-who are you reviewing Wildwood or Bistro 54”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2012

These are two separate establishments and very different. Seniors in the neighborhood closed down every restaurant that goes into that place, cause they are too cheap to buy a sandwich or any meal after their golf rounds (they too are running down the golf course, and ruining the whole neighborhood for Amberwood families, who can afford to play golf and have a nice meal).

This location is awesome, if it weren't for the old people who constantly, want a free meal, and don't want paying customers to disturb them!! Very fustrating!!

Good luck to Bistro 54, and yes the food is going to be crappy, cause they have to cut costs so that these old people will actually pull out their dusty wallets and eat there!
