“Fabulous Lebanese Food - worth the drive from the city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013

I have eaten at both Al Aseel in Surry Hills and Greenacre. The Greenacre restaurant is much larger. Food is excellent. Started with the mixed dips - 4 kinds of dips, and kibbe nayeh -(raw minced lamb - must eat, with olive oil, mint and onion) entree - both wonderful. The garlic dip is my favourite. The fried haloumi cheese is excellent and have ordered it every time I go. We usually order and share with everyone. The mixed grilled plate is full of meat, lamb, chicken, kafta, great with tabouli and fatoush salad and bread. The mixed skewers are wonderful with lots of garlic dip.

Dessert...............always wonderful - LOVE, LOVE, LOVE lebanese pastries.

You won't go away hungry - pace yourself with the bread as you want to eat it witl all the dips and meats.

“Food excellent, restaurant not for intimate dinners!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013 via mobile

I had take away from this restaurant & it was fantastic! Parking was a little bit of a challenge, though there was some parking under the restaurant.

It was a Sunday night and the place was chockas (I had tried to reserve a table for Saturday but could only get a spot at 8:30 unfortunately too late for us) its obviously a very popular place :)

Very loud venue so would be ok for family with older kids or a bunch of friends.

Recommend this one!

“Sensational Lebanese Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

I have eaten at friend's homes and experienced some terrific Lebanese food. This eatery beats or almost beats ALL those home cooked meals hands down! Lamb is cooked to perfection, garlic sauce sensational, homous tounge clicking, tabouli fresh and tangy - you can never have enough lemon... When we toss around ideas for a meal out, this is always my suggestion. Do yourself a favour and give it a go. You will not be dissappointed. The decore is 'simple', but who cares because it's the food you're after....
