Overall not a very nice holiday infact I would say very disappointed we stayed from 31st May to 10th June 2013 what was most off putting was the strong sewage smell which was awful we endured this on four different days...I would not book a swim up pool room with the number 101 to 109 because just the other side of your own little pool area is the large MAIN SEWER which is situated in the middle of the grass area directly opposite rooms 101 to 109 and at times it really stinks infact at around 15.00pm one day they opened the covers and exposed the smell to one and all leaving the covers open while they were doing some work.
I only write genuine and honest reviews and can only say that I booked this hotel from reading the reviews of other people and cannot understand how they have rated this hotel highly I speak as I find so believe this review or not is entirely up to you. Firstly I must say that the whole complex was spotless everywhere was clean and the staff were very friendly,the room we had was 631 on the 6th floor and was spotless but the sea views were a little disappointed, the room had plenty of space for hanging clothes and plenty of draw space the room was of a good size but the shower was a let down...not enough power.
The complex let itself down by the lack of facilities the reception was on ground level when coming from the front entrance but on the 3rd floor from the pool area the hotel only had 2 public toilets one on the 1st floor and one across the pool area in the corner of the entertainment area there were only 2 bars one in the main lounge and the other around the pool area near to the beach and they served the whole of the hotel and they were not very big either.
The Main Restaurant.... is clean but can get a little warm if the weather is hot,the air/con was never used. The food was well varied with different meat,pasta and rice dishes plus theme food each night there was plenty of salad too the desserts kind of let them down not much choice,the breakfast was very good alot to pick from the sad thing about it all is the food was never hot enough it was always warm but enjoyable.
The afternoon snacks..... served in the entertainment area were not bad but you had to go when they laid the food out because it too was only warm and was exposed to flies etc due to the fact no covers were placed over the food,the pizza was cooked fresh but that went quickly.
The pool area.... was good but not very big for a so called 4* that is if you can get a bed in a good spot for sun bathing from our room we could see the pool and being an early riser I would watch people putting towels on beds at 7.30am and even though I reported this to the Rep and the hotel nothing was done,one morning I went down at 8am sat on one of the beds and watched them putting towels down and counted 51 towels on beds you could go on the grass area to sun bathe but you may also get bitten by the insects so we used the beach alot and that too to a certain degree was not towel free.
The childrens area..... though we did not use it as we had no children I dont know many that did as there was not much for a child to do if anything.
Entertainment.....all I can say is terrible terrible terrible it was with one exception the IL Divo tribute guys absolute rubbish and out of 10 nights we stayed to watch the tribute act, the rest we went to watch but left they were good enough for children.
Overall I would not recommend this hotel firstly because it does not reach the standard you would expect of a 4* its location is very isolated and very hilly to the extreme you are in the middle of nowhere though there is a bus stop near the hotel, there are no ramps for wheel chairs in the complex its all steps this should be rated at a 3* at the most and cost accordingly it is not worth the money you pay and the smell is awful at times.
There were 6 children and 1 adult that contracted ear infections it was suspected from the pool and after the filtration was switched off for 2 days and checked after the infection outbreak but it was hushed up someone we met had their child hospitalised over night.
That is my truthful review and my own experience.
All I can say is if you do go ask for a high floor room with sea view there are 7 floors we had 631...

We are delighted that you found our property spotless, and our staff very friendly and attentive; moreover we are glad that our room was to your satisfaction and you found our food very varied. It is however disappointing that we could not satisfy you fully and for this we want to apologize. For clarification, the object you thought was the sewage system installed in the grass area is in fact the machinery connected to the functioning of our swim-up pool, not the biological treatment plant which is located elsewhere. Furthermore, in regards to your remark about the ear infection, there were in total 3 cases during the time of your stay, which according to our doctor, amongst 600 guests, is quite normal. We were immediately alerted as soon as the second ear infection case was brought to our attention, and for this reason checked all levels of water additives; they were all in the correct range and no filtration was ever switched off. Please be assured that we make absolutely sure that our pool water is kept at optimal standards at all times.
We are surprised about your negative remarks on our new swim-up rooms because we have received nothing but positive feedback. There are some peak hours during the day when all guests are taking a shower simultaneously after coming back from the beach or pool, causing a lack of water pressure, but other than that we do not face such a big problem. Let us politely disagree with you about the lack of food and beverage facilities because having two bars and three restaurants is more than enough for a property of this size. It saddens us that our desserts were a letdown for you, nevertheless our chefs will be informed about your remark as well as the temperature of the food; similarly our animation team will also be informed of your dissatisfaction with their performances. Regarding sun beds, we do ask our guests not to reserve them in advance but unfortunately this is not always adhered to. Finally for your information we offer a regular shuttle bus service to Corfu town for free, which you might have overlooked during your stay.
Lti Louis Grand is rated as a 4 star hotel based on the standard of services we offer, and you can see clearly on this website that most guests agree with us. The fact that the property is isolated is not in itself a reason to reduce the star rating; in fact some of the world’s best hotels are in much more remote locations than ours. Our location is advertised clearly and truthfully in our brochures, and is also evident from the comments on this website; we thus cannot accept responsibility for someone not being aware of this in advance.
Please accept our sincere apologies for not meeting your expectations, if you consider to give our company another chance to impress you with our services, Louis Hotels also manages several hotels in Cyprus, particularly the King Jason and the Royal Apollonia, which might suit your needs better.
