“Never come here even if its your last choice - BED BUGS”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2013

I would not even give 1 star for this.
I booked this just because every hotel in san juan was full due to season.
I am afraid whats biting are bed bugs... Cause there arent any mosquitos.
I am running outta here tomorrow morning...
Called the front door guys for new sheets but he said he dont have access to any facilities.

Moreover, this place looks like in a hood. Reception is far away than your room. Graveyard near by. Better stay in Condado. Moreover.. Dont be with bed bugs.. It sucks

Room Tip: Dont sleep here

Frontage for hotel not very good but it is a very safe place to stay. You have constant police presence and patrol through this area of town. You get what you pay for though. So do not expect a resort. This is a good place to crash though for under 100 without reservations. Use taxi services. Drivers here are awful and roads are confusing. Staff here was nice and helpful. It is kid of cool the way they merged several buildings together. Once your inside it is the old style stay of the islands. Reminds me of the old hotels in the keys you stay at when you go to do dive or fishing trips for a few days. Not to bad.

I found this place doing a online search. Prices are affordable if you compare to the big hotels in the area. It had a pool ( love it ) , wifi as well as computers, coffee machine and microwave (in lobby area) Also vending machines, you can get soda, water, snacks and beers . My boyfriend (who is from the west area of Puerto Rico) and I needed a place to spend the night as we were in the tattoo convention and lasted 3 days. It's a basic place, for crash in the nigh and spend the afternoon in the pool. Do not think that is a fancy hotel, more kind of a motel, hostel etc

Service is average. Front desk is available 24 hours so you can arrive at anytime for the "check inn" . There no room service, and housekeeping ... practically does not exist !!!! When we arrived the room had the beds made (not sure if the sheets were clean) and it had garbage from previous guests. the floor was dirty as well as the bathrooms. and found a dead cockroach on the floor. AC was working correctly, but it doesn't cool the room as I wish ( the weather outside was hot!)

For tourists with low budget its a place to sleep, but in the area there is a lot of guest houses an other s inn that you can try. ,Its like 5-10 minutes-driving distance from the international airport, also is close to the isla verde town, where you find the fun, beaches, restaurants pubs, bars etc .

Room Tip: ask for a room which has no main street view. It was noisy in the morning cause is above the lobby e...

I stayed here on April 28, 2013 to participate in a bike event the next day. I was looking a cheap place and near the area of the bike event and run by locals. I was very dissapointed, the floor was so slippery. It was like it was clean with a greasy mop or something like that. The room was so run down. There were tiny cockroaches all over the place. When I was carrying my packs to proceed to the checkout, a rat was scrambling through the alley and went onto the computer area. Uff..I will never ever stay here again!

i just stay in san juan puerto rico in april 2013..i was looking for a hotel that they price was not so high and in a local area. i read some reviews on the internet and i went to this hotel because of the reviews. when i first came in the staff was sleeping, the person on the front desk was not too friendly because i interupted his nap. the lobby had a funky smell, the floor in some areas was slipery, they gave me a room all the way in the back, i had to go through a maze to get there. the internet wi-fi didnt reach my room. in front of my room door was wet, the rooms are so close to each other that you could hear noises from the next room over. the bathroom was old, rusty, and moldy. they had two screws on the water faucet to turn on the water on and off. i just used the room to get some sleep and partly have a shower, when i asked around about the hotel the local people told me that its well know to bring hookers. its so cheap that they use it as a motel. the hotel its not a whole building it self, but several houses with alleys in between. the so call hotel its not worth the price, run down motel more or less. if anybody goes to this place it will be to bring hookers and for the night, not for vacation.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013

My dad and I stayed at the Coqui Inn on two seperate occasions. One after my first arrival, when I just got off the airport and the other when I was flying back to the Airport.

Pros:
- Close to the Aiport
- 2 Pools
- Actual Coqui Frogs can be heard at night
- Beer/Snacks available for Purchase
- Nice amount of Restaurants/Shops not too far away

Cons:
- Random people hanging out in the Lobby
- Wifi is pretty bad except in the Lobby
- Right behind the Highway on the other side from the Beach
- Parking is limited and sketchy
- Room Decor is quite 1990's

However, they are cheap and really very good considering all the other places I have stayed at.

Nice staff, a bit funky like a hostel, great location. Prices for the area are very good. Big plus is that it is near the airport and right off the highway. Downer is that it is right off the highway, a bit noisy. Internet, pool, a short walk across the highway (pedestrian bridge) to the public access Carolina beach.
