Suites are very nice and spacious. Rooms are surprisingly very quiet even though you are next to the freeway and airport. Very convenient.
Beds and linens are comfy.
Suites have 2 large flat screen TV's with lots of channels.
Evening cocktails and breakfast are included.
Hotel had on-site Outback Steakhouse and another restaurant and bar with room service. Casino also on-site.
Beautiful, large lagoon pool with waterfall, kiddie pool, and hot tub. Also had a pool bar open in the afternoon.
Fees charged seemed excessive.

.This is a great spot to stay in Isla Verde. Staff was wonderful, friendly and accommodating. Everyone from front desk to the breakfast hostess to the pool staff to the beach staff had a smile and was willing to make sure our stay was going okay! Pool is large, tropical landscaped with plenty of lounges. Casino and 2 restaurants in lobby. Breakfast and happy hour are great perks. Beach is close by with towels, chairs and umbrellas ready and waiting, and it was nice not to have to play the "towel game" at 6 am to reserve a spot. Plenty of restaurants, other hotels and casinos all in walking distance as well as a large supermarket around the corner. Close to airport but no problem with noise. 6th floor is reserved for HHonor members and our 1st room was 640. No hot water, leak into bedroom carpet, safe painted shut, across from 3 elevators with lots of noise. Almost seemed as if no one had been in room in weeks....Next morning we were moved to 5th floor and it was fine! Would definitely stay here again, Spent time in Old San Juan, fun, historic but no beaches. Also went to Condado-, beach is much smaller, very rough waves and several abandoned buildings between the hotels gave it a desolate feel. Beach in Isla Verde is much bigger, nicer, has trees and not so much of a city feel. Great trip all around!

Room Tip: Ask to be away from the bank of 3 elevators. Higher floors are not as noisy.

We booked Embassy Suites for 1 night lay overs in San Juan at both ends of our recent Island vacation. Hotel is very conveniently located close to the airport, yet far enough that we did not notice any airplanes. Staff were very pleasant and helpful, and the facilities are great for a short stay. The large pool area is perfect for hanging out with the family. It opens at 7am which was great - allowing us to get into holiday mode even with early morning flights. The buffet style breakfast was well organized with plenty of options and decent quality food.

Our family of 5 easily fit into the large suite rooms. The only issue we experienced was the very uncomfortable mattress in the pull out couch. It is was impossible to sleep on, even for a few hours. We had the same experience in 2 rooms so I think these torture gurneys are common through out the hotel. If you have a large family book the King Bed Suite, put kids on the pull out and ask for a roll in cot if necessary!

The 16% Hotel Service Charge is outrageous, especially for guests that check in late and leave early. I strongly recommend Embassy reconsider this policy for single night stays because guests simply can't use the facilities they are paying for.

Room Tip: If you have a large family book the King Bed Suite, put kids on the pull out and ask for a roll in c...

Dear Rich O:

We appreciate and value the comments posted on tripadvisor.com regarding your most recent stay at our hotel. It is so rewarding to know that we met and exceeded our guest expectations as that is our #1 goal. We do apologize for the discomfort of the mattresses. We do have in this year’s plans to change those to thicker mattresses in order to satisfy more our guest and their families. I do hope that you were able to take advantage of some of the Hotel Fee charges as this is common in Puerto Rico and other destinations that offer Resort amenities.

Again, thank you for your comments and for staying with us in Puerto Rico. Happy Easter Holidays to all!

Just returned from 4 nights at this hotel. Very friendly staff, kept our bags until we could check in to our rooms. Breakfast was great. Close to the beach, bus stop and many fast food restaurants. There was a Walgreens in walking distance and a few souvenir shops. They also kept our bags on day of check out until we needed to leave for airport. Allowed an extra hour in the rooms before we checked out. Lined up a taxi for 9 people so we could all ride to the airport together. Towels, chairs and umbrellas available on the beach at no extra charge. Pool was nice had a small kids play area. Did not notice noise from the highway or planes overhead. Would stay here again.

The staff was attentive and helpful. The breakfast and Happy Hour were good and appreciated. The pool was very family friendly. The bed and bathroom were clean. The hotel's stretch of beach was well managed, though a shuttle to and from the beach would've been nice.

The hotel property was tatty. The room floors, hallways, and common area carpets were in need of cleaning. The hotel could use a good cleaning and some fixing up.

The booking was through Hotels.com. On checkout, there was a significant charge added to the bill for "hotel services." The clerk explained the charge was necessary because Hotels.com didn't pay enough of the hotel's expenses. On the third request, the charge was removed.

Dear Ott0:

It is so rewarding to read these postings and see how we meet and/or exceed our guest expectations. So thank you very much for posting your experience for others to read. We would love to offer a shuttle but unfortunately it is not an approved service for the Metropolitan area. If not, we would offer you yet another convenience to make your stay even more enjoyable. I will personally address your comments on cleanliness with our Housekeeping Team as we know it is vital.

We hope to see you back with us soon and look forward in personally meeting you at the Hotel. Have a perfect year.

Sincerely,

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in February. The location was super convenient to the airport, and the many excursions that we took. The room was very clean and spacious. The only minor complaint that we had was the fact that the window did not open. We like to have a bit of fresh air and having the window open even a couple of inches would have been nice. The staff was wonderful and of course the nightly happy hour was a huge bonus. We ate at both restaurants in the hotel. The Outback was the usual chain experience. The other restaurant at the hotel had very good food. The pool was perfect and the poolside bartender made perfect mojitos. Very nice stay at this hotel. Overall very good value.

It was difficult finding a hotel suite that could accommodate 5 adults. Embassy suites was the only hotel that offered two beds and a pull out bed which was all really needed. Overall our stay was good. The hotel concierge was very accommodating. Our flight arrived really early (5am!) and the hotel allowed us to check in early free of charge. Myself and two others arrived together and the other two arrived separately on different days. The concierge allowed us to split the room charges. The 3 of us paid our share and when the other 2 arrived they paid their share. This was very helpful. The hotel has free hot breakfast (not the usual lame continental breakfast other hotels offer) each day which was a major perk and each night between 5:30 - 7:30 om is Happy Hour. Unlimited amount of free drinks how can one complain?! :) The hotel was just a short walk to the beach. My only complaint was with the air ventilation system in our suite. There didn't seem to be any air circulating in the room which made the room always feel damp and moist and smell a little stale whenever we would enter at the end of the day. When it was time to check out we were able to get a late check out free of charge. All in all I was pleased with our stay and the service.

Dear 4everQila:

Wow, this review sounds like a commercial explaining the perks of your stay so thank you so much for posting the details. I am so glad that you had a great experience at our Hotel and I hope the same about your visit throughout our Island. I will extend a congratulations to the Concierge Team as they are truly very dynamic and helpful. I am sorry for the dampness of your suite but am glad that we accommodated your late checkout request. We look forward in welcoming you back.
