“William (Doorman) has the most beautiful Spirit!!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

My best friend and I visited the hotel in August for her birthday. Things did not start out well. We arrived at approximately 3:30 and check in is at 4:00. Upon checking in we were told our room was not ready, come back 4:00. Well, we returned at 4:00 and the room still was not ready and the guy at the front desk had a very nonchalant attitude about the situation. Well, needless to say our room was not ready until 5:45p.m!! We paid for an ocean view room. However, we were escorted a substandard room that had the worst view ever!!! I mean our view was literally of the ugly green roof!!!! I complained and Irene(the manager) agreed to move me to another room the next day. The next day we received a pleasant surprise. Irene moved us to the 16th floor and the view was Spectacular!!!! Thanks Again Irene!

But the best part of our stay at the hotel was WILLIAM. He was one of the door men. He greeted us daily with a warm smile and great words of wisdom. He has such a beautiful spirit. As we were leaving the hotel heading to the airport, my best friend mentioned to him that it was her birthday. Within minutes, William had one of the staff members bring her a delicious slice of chocolate cake. That was such a sweet gesture!!! Thanks again William! You are the kind of worker every establishment needs - keep it up!!!

Very much enjoyed our 4 night stay at this hotel. Alexis at the lobby bar was lovely and was sweet to get us some off the menu appetizers like Yucca fries. Maid service was wonderful and timely. Pool/beach was so accommodating.

A big shout out to the security guard on duty Friday night - Sept. 5th we had mistakenly left our room door ajar and the poor guy had to knock repeatedly at 2:00am to make sure we were allright. We are hard sleepers and don't wake up easily. So he knocked several times, I was grateful for his persistence as something could have been wrong and he was very diligent. Sadly I did not get his name as he deserves a pat on the back for sure.

Flan in the italian restaurant was awesome as a late night treat.

The only disappointing experience was the gym. 3 of the 7 machines were not working at all and several of the treadmills had band problems which made running a bit precarious. Also several of the circuit system machines were also not working. There should be some attention to this area as the gym is wonderful added benefit. one positive note, the view from the gym was great!

We stayed for 6 nights in August. This was the most unaccommodating "resort" we have ever stayed at. Check in time was 4pm and we arrived at 3:30. They made us wait on line to check in and then said they would call us when the room was ready. They did this to everyone, even though there were obviously rooms available. One of 3 elevators was not working and we did not see any repairs in progress during in the entire time we were there (it seems like they are just not putting the money into repairing it). The bar and restaurant prices are crazy. If you do not rent a car there is nothing to do around there besides their tours ($$$). Many of the front desk workers had nasty attitudes, and the woman at the Avis rental was the worse. The first room we were given was smelly and dirty (mold in bathroom). After waiting online at the desk about 3 more times, we are upgraded to a higher floor. It was right as you exit the elevator on the 9th floor. The room was big and clean and beautiful (still mold in bathroom and dirt in tub that does not come out) but since the wait for the elevator was so long due to the fact that only 2 were working, we were woken up several times each night. We think we were given that room because we complained about the previous dirty room. We walked into the San Juan Hotel next door to get a map of the area and were astounded by how beautiful it was. It definitely was a "resort" with lots of entertainment, beautiful pools, cool outside bar and decent casino. We tried to move but they were booked. Would not recommend the Intercontinental.

Room Tip: Look at the room and make sure it is clean before you check in. Better yet, don't bother stayin...

had a wonderful time with my husband. we went four our honeymoon in 2011, and have gone back every year since! the staff is very professional and courteous, we cannot wait to return to see the finished hotel after the renovations from last year!

Room Tip: if it is in affordability range book an ocean view room on a higher floor

As a first timer to the island and the proximity to the airport I was a bit worried....however, that all changed once we were on the property. As a member of the IHG rewards we were ushered over to another desk for check-in. The lady, wish I could remember her name, was fantastic!! She totally sold us on the club level rooms--breakfast, snacks and light apps with wine/beer daily...love it!! And after a night out you come back to a seriously sweet espresso machine and cookies/snacks to take back to the room!! Club level rooms might not have the views that the tower does--but we were literally 75' from the ocean!! We stayed ground level, 2nd from the end and it was awesome! Yea, the bathroom wasn't 5 star...needs updating, etc. But it was clean. The bed was so comfy and we had a little living room area too! Super cute. The patio was awesome...we took naps out there after all the sugary drinks at the bar! I have a love/hate relationship with Rum.
Overall, the hotel is great, we honestly stayed on the property most of our vacay with the exception of eating. Don't go to Lupi's (?) Mexican. Nothing good to say about that.
Location, beach and bartenders were stellar--Javier is the best!!!
We would go back, no question.

Room Tip: Club level if you can do it! It's totally worth it!!!
