If you are reading this then you are considering booking, I wouldn't hesitate any longer as you will definitely enjoy the experience. It is a small family run concern with Elaine and Ian at the helm and Par the Swedish chef (not mad.....but does have a great sense of humour) in the galley and charming Estrella and Isobel keeping the decks clean and they all do a fantastic job in their roles. Not quite sure why I'm using a nautical analogy probably because I've just booked a cruise!

The property is unconventional with all rooms having their own 'front' door to the outside, which gives a sense of privacy. Inside the rooms are rustic but elegantly soft furnished with good quality linens, dark oak furniture and quality bathrooms. All a little bit different some with large Jacuzzi bathrooms and private terraces (we stayed in room 9 & 10). The location is rural and unusual which makes it all the more interesting and very well placed for touring the surrounding sights. The food is fantastic and punctuated by themed dining nights. Elaine and Ian also support and promote local artisans and hold regular markets, wine tasting, arts and craft fairs and many other events which are not only applaud-able and generous on their part but also entertaining for their guests and locals living nearby. They also hold themed weekends and bespoke holidays for Bikers, Bird Watchers, Wine Buffs, Trekkers and Children...there's a fascinating Alpaca Farm nearby owned by a charming couple Nigel and Ginny. You will meet the locals as they regularly use the excellent restaurant and small friendly bar where you will also meet the rest of the family at some time (their three daughters and Elaine's Mum) .

I stayed for 25 glorious days as my husband works for Aston Martin and was part of a contingent booked in and supporting an event held at the nearby Ascari race track. While I was there I saw the comings and goings of many different nationalities, and, Elaine and Ian are English speaking, French speaking and Spanish speaking. They will undoubtedly make you feel welcome and ensure you have a great memorable holiday.

“Fantastic bed & breakfast!”

Hotel Molino del Puente was one of the nicest bed & breakfast inns we've ever visited. The rooms are spacious, clean and very well-decorated. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was truly spectacular, with separate shower and designer bath.

Ian and Elaine, the British proprietors, were extremely friendly. The food they prepared for both breakfast and dinner in their gorgeous restaurant was outstanding. They also gave us great recommendations of places to visit in and around Ronda (don't miss the "White Villages" such as Gratzilema!).

The hotel location is also good. It's just a few kilometers outside of Ronda, easily accessible by car. It is near a major road but noise was minimal.

We would highly recommend this hotel. It was a truly memorable experience and exceeded our expectations. The only negative we could see was no air conditioning. The temperatures were pleasantly cool when we were there so this was not an issue for us (and they also had a large fan available in our room), but just something to consider if you are going to be visiting Ronda during a much warmer time of year.

“Shame about the view...”

Hotel Molino del Puente Ronda

May 28, 2008

We booked this hotel based on the excellent feedback from the tripadvisor website and to be honest we were a little disappointed. I know this seems to go against most of the other reviews but we can only say as we see and experience.

We had good booking communication and welcome when we arrived. We were not expecting the view (or precisely the lack of it from the hotel). We had hoped it was in the country with corresponding outlook. In fact it is overlooked by a railway line (not busy) and a elevated main road Ronda/Seville which is.

Not the peaceful ideal we were hoping for. The room was clean but spartan one chair and no where to put a suitcase.

The breakfasts were substantial and excellent. The jury is out on the dinners. We had one very good one and one indifferent one.

The children were fine and well behaved but should they have been eating their evening meals in the bar area on a busy night?

Overall OK but there are better around for similar prices.

We (2 parents travelling with 15 and 17 year old children) loved this place. The hosts were very welcoming, the accommodation was beautiful, spotless, very comfortable, well tended and clean grounds, very inviting swimming pool. The food was excellent, suited both the vegetarians and carnivores in our family (lots of fresh fruit, vegetables, fabulous fish, lamb....) Really nice extra touches, such as a lounge/library with a wide variety of books in several languages, the bottle of sparkling wine cooling in our room upon our arrival. Beautiful location with walks laid out so you can wander in the surrounding countryside for hours. We travelled by train, took a taxi to and from the hotel (12 -- 13 euros, depending on which taxi company you use- cheap, easy and reliable). Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts; they were able to make last minute arrangements for a car, driver and guide to take us to Gibraltar for the day (Topham Tours, very sweet guide, relaxing trip with lots of sights pointed out along the way). This is one of the very few places we have ever been that actually lived up to, if not exceeded, the description on the website. We loved it.

“Perfect!!!!”

Hotel Molino del Puente Ronda

May 13, 2008

We have lived in Spain for over ten years and have stayed in all kinds of hotels and eaten all kinds of food. The Hotel Molino del Puente in Ronda can not be beat. It is a charming place along a steam with well apointed rooms. The food is some of the best I have ever eaten anywhere!!! The owners are British (but don't hold that aganist them :) ) are wonderful. We have stayed there on three different occasions and the place just keeps getting better and better.
You can not go wrong with this place!!!!
