This was a unique hotel. Really felt like I was in Ronda, and not any destination. It seems that the rustic (and free) bar area encourages the visitors to gather and socialize. When I was there, I enjoyed the opportunity to meet and learn about guests from a number of European countries, as well as the US and New Zealand. I agree with the positive comments about the food, drink, free internet, attractive location and the negative comment regarding the extremely low light in the rooms -- bring your flashlight or you won't find your dark colored clothes. If you have any problem with stairs, request a room in the main part of the hotel where there is an elevator. Old, rustic doors and windows don't provide sound insulation so keep in mind that others can hear what you are doing. Ronda is very interesting historic town, and it can be reached by train. You will probably have to call for a taxi at the train station, but the phone # is posted, and the taxi comes quickly.

I struggle to write this review, because there are so many fantastic things about this hotel, but there are a couple of things to be aware of. First the good. The hotel is splendidly located, on a relatively quiet, pretty little street so close to everything in Ronda (but honestly, what isn't?--it's a VERY small town). The hotel oozes charm--it is one of the most charming hotels I've ever stayed in. It is super funky in all the right ways. The decor and flavor of the hotel really added to our stay in Ronda. The breakfast buffet spread is out of this world--great food, great selection (I could go on and on about this). The hosts are very attentive and make you feel welcome the minute you walk in the the door. The complimentary drink bar is a huge plus. They have it all from sodas, beer, water, coffee, tea and juices--all you want day or night! The game room, terraces, gardens, pool area, atrium and other public spaces are fantastic--plus the free internet access on the computer in the game room is a nice bonus. Now for the negatives. The first one is minor, but we found the charming ambience they create in the rooms with funky small lamps to be, well, charming indeed, but it was a bit dim in there (especially in the dark shower) which was a bit frustrating at times. The place does have a noise problem. There is zero insulation. The halls echo badly, and with all the heavy wooden doors slamming, it's impossible to count on peace and quiet. And the insulation from the street is next to nothing as well--old, single-paned windows with sizeable (albiet charming) cracks all around the wooden frames that you could see right through letting in each and every bit of street noise (which in all truthfulness, was not a lot). Plus our room was situated directly over the kitchen area, and we could hear the staff banging around in there at all hours, which was really annoying. If you stay here, request a room on the top floor not facing the street to minimize all noise issues. If you can do that, I would highly recommend this place.

We stayed for two nights in April with our two children(7&8),they loved the pool table and access to the computer. They felt very independant as they were allowed to get soft drinks themselves. The parrott in one of the gardens caused them great amusement.
Overall a very different hotel, that will bring a smile to your face.Staff very helpfull.
The shower areas need a little upgrading.

Won't add anything much to the other positive reviews - they sum Enfrente Arte up nicely. Room - very funky, breakfast - excellent, bar - great, facilities - unique, location - perfect. The other thing to say is that the staff were brilliant. All in all one of the best places we've ever stayed in. Maybe not for people who like their chain hotels, but that just leaves more room for the rest of us!

My husband and I spent one night at this hotel and LOVED it! We wished we could have stayed longer. We also loved the town of Ronda. We drove up from Estepona through Gaucin on mountain roads with amazing views. The directions for getting to the hotel were very good. We had no trouble finding parking on the street near the hotel. It's in a residential section of town near the old bridge.

The hotel itself is very unique. The rooms are very "artsty" with different colors, slightly dim lighting, and ornate doors. We stayed in room #9 which overlooked the street in front. It was very quiet at night.

The hotel is unique because there is an open bar with beer on tap, multiple local wines, cola, juice, water, an espresso machine, etc and all of the drinks are included in the price of the room. Mine was 88 euro per night.

The hotel also has a beautiful courtyard with tropical plants, large aquarium that you can walk in (on stepping stones) to get to the game room. There is one computer for free internet and a library and pool table. Out back there is a sundeck, pool and sauna. It was too cold to do any of those things. We arrived at 6pm and a lot of people were simply relaxing at the hotel. It is down a hill from town, so it's an upward climb to walk to town, which takes about 10 minutes.

The breakfast in the morning (from 8:30-noon) was exceptional, with anything you could possibly want. They had breads, cheese, meat, yougurt, fresh fruit, and tons of things made to order including churros con chocolate, crepes, and some other type of fried dough that we didn't recognize. They kept bringing out more and more delicious food. It was one of the best breakfasts we've ever had at a hotel!

When we go back to Ronda, we'll defintely stay here again!
