My husband, 12-yr old son and I are just back from 3 weeks in Spain. We spent first week exploring Andalusia from this charming hotel with 8 units located just outside Ronda. The "cortijo" (farm) buildings have been converted with such taste and charm, and the pool and gardens are a delight. Most rooms face a gorgeous hillside field with a few handsome trees on which a herd of "vacas" (beef cattle) graze. We just loved watching them migrate across the golden, just-mowed hillside. The innkeepers are a lovely family with two small children and provide excellent advice on natural, historic, cultural, and shopping options in the area. The daily breakfasts include lots of fresh fruit and tasty baked goods. The optional dinners cooked by owner/ innkeeper Pablo are superb and show off the best local meat, fish and produce. Close by is the amazing city of Ronda, many white villages, incredible hikes and remarkable caves, including one with prehistoric paintings. This is a great place for families to relax and use as a base of exploration of the amazing Andalusian countryside. It was the highlight of our 3 week holiday in Spain that included the beach, Andalusia, Madrid and Barcelona.
