“Comfortable hotel, friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

Comfortable hotel with friendly staff. They spoke English very well and were very helpful and pointed out many fun things for us to do.

Great location right near the Puente Nuevo and the heart of all the action, but still quiet.

I would definitely stay here again.

The location is good, the service is good and the room is good as well.
Really make you feel like home.
However, it reminds me I'm not at home when finding drinking water cost money...
Breakfast is okay.

My husband and I stayed here for seven days in total, staying in two different rooms. Both rooms were most comfortable and beautifully decorated. The hotel is in a great location in the old part of Ronda, and only a few minutes walk to the amazing bridge. We did not have a car and found that it was easy to walk everywhere. The staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast every morning was very good, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in such beautifully furnished accommodation.

The Hotel San Gabriel is a gem! We stayed in the honeymoon suite for about five days in April. Our room was great--very quiet, roomy, clean, and the bed was super comfortable. The hotel has free in room Wi-Fi and our room also had a small flat screen tv with cable. The staff is fabulous--very helpful, thoughtful and accommodating. The hotel is walking distance to all of Ronda's historic and tourist spots, as well as to the village's shopping and dining section. We loved our stay and can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: I don't mean to say that the pool and fitness center are terrible. There is no pool, nor is the...

Staying in this beautiful hotel might be compared to being in a living museum, with magnificent 18 Century woodwork, glorious object art and pictures carefully chosen and sensitively placed. However this would over estimate museums where you would find the personal attention and sensitivity of the management , who upgraded our accommodation, at no extra charge, and took the trouble to explain things clearly and celebrate the cultural heritage of this hotel.
The hotel does not have the fine views that some hotels in Ronda have , but enjoys a unique atmosphere nestled in the cool protective old city that is only a few minutes away from the many delights of elegant Ronda.
The immaculate room with it own architectural and historical joys, was almost but not quite perfect. The bathroom did not ventilate easily , while the shower arrangements could be improved, standing in a bath with a plastic curtain was acceptable for inexpensive hotels in the 1980s, but there are much better alternatives today.
Despite this minor criticism, we will certainly return.

Room Tip: Talk to the receptionists, they are very helpful.

Unfortunately we spent only 1 day in this charming resort.
I have only good things to say about it, especially the sympathetic and welcoming personel (-:
The place is an old big house that was converted into a beautiful, small hotel and the moment you enter you feel at home.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
This carefully restored building dates from the 18th century and lies in the most historic district of Ronda, surrounded by ancient monuments.Retaining much of its original charm, the San Gabriel still displays an attractive stone façade and the coat of arms of one of its former owners. Spend a quiet moment in the library corner or in the typically Andalusian courtyard, full of plants and a trickling fountain. Here you can start the day with the hotel’s delicious breakfast. You can also enjoy a film in the intimate cinema room, which includes red velvet seats taken from the city’s old cinema. Combined with its privileged location, the hotel facilities make this a truly authentic Spanish setting for your holiday in rural Andalusia. ... more   less
