“Loved this hotel - a jewel in Ronda!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 29, 2012

Top value for the money, really. Great boutique hotel. Interior and rooms are superbly charming and the rate was so reasonable at 95 Euros a night for a very spacious junior suite. Breakfast was included, but parking was extra at a nearby public lot that has special rates for the hotel. It is a bit tucked away in Ronda, but a very short walking distance to the bridge and all the sites. Any way Ronda is very small so everything is accessible on foot. Hotel provides good recommendations for restaurants. Both my wife and I loved this hotel. We picked it based on tripadvisor reviews, and it exceeded our expectations.

Room Tip: We stayed in the junior suite, top floor, which was superb. Highly recommend it.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of an 8 night holiday touring Andalucia. Although you don't get the views of the bridge and scenery that you can get from other larger hotels, it is a very pretty hotel, with lots of history, tucked away from the bustle of Ronda. Just a couple of minutes walk from the bridge and town centre. All staff very welcoming and helpful, and our room extremely comfortable and warm (most welcome during an otherwise cold stay in Spain) at a very reasonable rate, with adequate buffet breakfast included. We thoroughly recommend staying here, and also recommend a visit to the stunning town of Ronda. Definitely to be revisited - hotel and town!

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 3 which had large double windows looking onto a small but very pretty 'pluvium...

We stayed in the San Gabriel for part of our honeymoon for two nights and loved it! The rooms were good sized, very clean, and very beautifully decorated! The service was great - always very willing to give directions or suggestions. It was centrally located for all we wanted to see.

I am a lover of tripadvisor, Rick Steve's, and Frommer's hotel reviews, however, this time I was very disappointed. Maybe it was the time of year, but our 2 day stay at Hotel San Gabriel was not what I expected. We stayed in mid-December, 2011. First, no one offered to help us get our bags into the hotel, and there was someone there to help us if he wished to. Next, the junior suite they had for us smelled horrible, like a combination of "old room" and smoke. After bringing this to their attention, they kindly offered us other rooms, which smelled much nicer. We moved to one. Seeing the other rooms, I realized they reserved the worse room for us. The first night we had no hot water. It was barely warm, even after running it for 5 minutes. Also, the room was very dark and we even had a window. In addition, our room was very cold and the bed not very comfortable either. The hotel advertizes WiFi in the rooms, but it did not work. The owner did make a good effort to repair it, but could not. It was not working in any of the rooms they offered us. They owner was concerned. The next morning I told the staff about no hot water and they moved us again. We had hot water now, it was a warmer and brighter room too. We really liked Ronda and were glad we visited, but would stay at the parador next time. It was about $70 more per night, but I think it would have been well worth it. We visited the parador and prices that day were much less than on the internet. Hotel San Gabriel was decorated beautifully, but not at all what we expected. The only hotel on our trip we were disappointed in.

Room Tip: Because they showed us so many room, I can tell you they really varied in quality. The nicest was th...

Small, well priced converted house in close walking proximity to the Bridge. No views. Well appointed genuine Spanish furnitureb and familty memorabilia.. Great little courtyard for breakfast.
Wonderful family that still runs the premises, with excellent English skills. Ronda is great for a visit.

Room Tip: No rooms with a view.

I could gush about this forever, but just COME here. I'm going back, not just for beautiful Ronda but for this beautiful hotel. Most highly recommended hotel out of all I've ever been in!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We loved the Hotel San Gabriel. We had a nice room with beautiful decoration. It was quiet and the beds were comfortable. We slept until 9 am everyday! The buffet was fine but if you wanted hot food it costs 6 euros more. The staff was super friendly and helpful and the location can't be beat.
